Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – March 10, 2016”
Alan: Hi, this is Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for Thursday, March 10th, 2016.
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: I’ll get right in to stock status with you. I just heard today that the black on black Iyashi is back-ordered until late March, early April. We are also – have been told that the Flex 3s, or sorry, not the Flex 3s – the Osaki 4D, OS-4D Premium, it’s only available in ‘Black’ until April, and the ‘Cream’ color is gone on the 4S, on the Osaki JP Premium 4S chair, and we have both of those chairs in our California showroom, if you’re interested to know about those. They’re the only 100% Japanese-made massage chairs that we have – that we carry that’s available, that, on our website – the Fujiiryoki chairs are also Japanese made, but the ones that we sell commonly, that we have on our website, are these two, the OS-4D, Osaki OS-4D Pro JP Premium, and then the OS JP Premium 4S, 4D, 4S, I think I get confused every time I talk about that. Anyway, there are some stock issues with that as well. The – as far as I’m aware, I think the ‘Bronze’ – the ‘Bronze’ Ogawa Refresh is back-ordered until the middle of this month, so those should be in in the next week or two. Anyway, that’s it, as far as I can recall, for stock availability.
[SCREEN TEXT: Inada Flex 3s Price Drop to $5299]
Alan: I will also mention that Inada has dropped down the price of their Flex 3s to $5299. It had been $5999; they had offered rebates periodically, throughout the last quarter, to bring it down to $4999. Well, they now are selling it at $5299, same price as the Inada YuMe, and again, it’s a Japanese chair, great stretch program on the Flex 3s, it’s probably the best stretch program of any chair out there. The overall massage is a little gentle, if you like a really robust and vigorous massage, this one will be disappointing to you, but the stretch program’s fabulous.
[SCREEN TEXT: Chair Owner’s Manuals on Our Website]
Alan: Also, we have got – the owner’s manuals are on our website now – so every owner’s manual that is available to us, we have in PDF files on our website. So, if you look at our website, on any product page, below the images, the main portion of the shopping cart, or the product page, below that is a bunch of tabs, and it says ‘Overview,’ ‘Features,’ ‘Specifications,’ and ‘Articles,’ and now there’s a tab called ‘Owner’s Manual,’ if that chair has an owner’s manual. If it does not have an owner’s manual that’s on a PDF file available to us, then it’s not going to say ‘Owner’s Manual,’ but if you go to a chair, like the Inada DreamWave, or the Luraco iRobotics 7, or any of the Apex chairs, you’ll see a tab that says ‘Owner’s Manual,’ click on that tab, and then there’ll be a download link of the owner’s manuals. So, we’ve made a concerted effort to get all the owner’s manuals that we can, that we can find, on our website, and most of them, I would say, are there. So, that’s there for you to peruse if – that’s also good information if you’re thinking about a chair, not sure which model to get, and you want to see how it works – the owner’s manual is great that way. It shows you assembly instructions; it shows you how to use the chair, at least at a very basic level; it’s a good resource to have. Let’s see, what else have we got cooking?
[SCREEN TEXT: Review of iRobotics 7 Chair]
Alan: I finally wrote an iRobotics 7 review. This iRobotics 7 chair has been very popular for us, and I have it in both of my showrooms. It is a higher priced chair, it’s priced at $8490. It’s an American-made chair, with some Taiwanese imported non-critical components, but it’s a great chair, very quiet chair. It has over 100 airbags, like the Inada DreamWave, but it’s a very, very quiet chair, great chair, but anyway, I wrote a review, it’s about a 2000-word review. As it is always with me, it’s pretty verbose, but anyway, if you want to read up on that, go ahead and take a look at it.
[SCREEN TEXT: More New Videos on Our YouTube channel]
Alan: I’ve also been posting more videos on our YouTube channel. I’ve got the Infinity Escape videos up. I’ve got some iRobotics 7 videos up. I have recently put up the Navitas Sleep videos, or at least two or three of those, from Human Touch, on our YouTube channel. So, we’ve been – we’ve got quite a few videos coming up – and of course, I try to put one or two out a week, whether it’s this industry update, or it’s a feature video for one of the massage chairs that we carry.
[SCREEN TEXT: Podcasts on iTunes – “Alan Weidner”]
Alan: And anyway, and also, we now have a podcast that you can access the massage chair industry update, or any of our massage chair customer reviews, or any of the industry head interviews, you can access those on our podcast on iTunes. So, go ahead and go to iTunes, search for ‘Alan Weidner,’ and that’s W-E-I-D-N-E-R, and our podcast will come up. Anyway, what else have we got cooking for you? Well, just a couple of other things in closing.
[SCREEN TEXT: 18 Months, 0% Interest Until March 15th]
Alan: Synchrony Bank now has their – and I tell you that periodically, and that – when I say periodically, maybe four, five, six times a year, they offer lower processing fees on their 18-month financing, 0% interest financing, and that is available through the 15th. So, through the beginning of next week, you can get 18-months financing at a lower interest rate – I mean, our lower processing fee – so we can offer that to you, that 0% interest for 18 months. We’ll always have 0% interest for 6 or 12 months, unless we get a new company, or another company, that offers something better, or different.
[SCREEN TEXT: Upholstery Damage]
Alan: And then finally, I got a phone call from – you know, we used to sell the Perfect Chair, a couple of the Perfect Chair models, the ones that had massage function – I don’t sell those anymore. They’ve discontinued, I think, one or two of those models, and we’ve just taken the Perfect Chair off of our website. The Perfect chair is an ergonomically sound, zero-gravity recliner, without massage. Inada has come out with Positive Posture, their line of zero-gravity chairs, and I think Cozzia also has a line of zero-gravity chairs, but the zero-gravity recliners are wonderful; they’re very comfortable. Of course, there’s massage chairs with zero gravity, which makes for very comfortable positioning in the chair, to get the massage. But anyway, I had a customer that bought a Perfect Chair a while back, and the material wore out, on the – I believe, on the back, and on the seat, and he was really discouraged, because he thought ‘Well, gee, this thing isn’t,’ you know, I think it’s been a few years old – but you know, it kind of went bad prematurely. So, you know, I was looking in to, you know, a leather, upholstery repair guy for him, here locally, but he called me back, and he says ‘Well, you know what, I can just buy these pads, these replacement pads, from Human Touch, for a few hundred dollars,’ as opposed to replacing the whole chair, or spending a few hundred dollars on repairs, having repairs done. They will actually send you out a new set of pads. Now, that applies, pretty much, to the Perfect Chair, which I don’t sell, but for those of you that have one, look in to that. But also, if you have a massage chair that has a chair back – it’s usually the chair back that’ll go bad – you know, let me know, or call the company, whether it’s Human Touch, or Osaki, or Inada, or Luraco, or whatever, and see if they have replacement pads. They usually do, and you can buy a replacement pad, and replace that back pad if it’s – you know, shredded, or worn out, so that’s just a little FYI for you, so that you can get those repairs – or those rips done, or those shredded back pads fixed. Now, if you’ve got a tear somewhere else, like on an armrest, or on the chair ottoman, or something like that, you can call – you know, here locally, we use a company called ‘Dr. Leather and Vinyl’ – I don’t know if it’s a franchise thing, but we use it here locally, and they will come out and repair it, repair a rip, or a tear, or a bad scuff. I’ve had a few of them done here in my showroom, because the chairs in the showroom get some wear and tear, and they get scuffed, and banged up, but anyway, if you do have a tear, or rip, that’s a good suggestion. Look up upholstery repair, google it for your area, I’m sure, at the very least, you could contact the big furniture company in your area, whoever that is, and see who they use, but you can have those little rips and tears repaired.
[SCREEN TEXT: Black Leather Inada DreamWave $1000 OFF!]
Alan: Well, I think that’s just about it. That’s not too terribly long now, is it? Not a lot of stuff, I guess, to report, but if you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at 888-259-5380, and of course, you can always reach out to me via email, or on our Facebook page, or on our YouTube channel, or whatnot. I’m everywhere, you can’t escape me, I guess, but feel free to reach out to me. I’d love to answer any of your questions that you might have. I just sent out an email, this morning, about a ‘Black’ leather, a premium ‘Black’ leather Inada DreamWave that we have for sale. I had a customer that bought it, owned it for two months, and sent it back. He has a back problem that his doctors have told him that the massage chair’s contraindicated, and so that chair is back, and it’s – black leather is a beautiful material, it’s a beautiful premium leather, it’s not – I mean, you can tell that it’s a quality made upholstery.
[SCREEN TEXT: 801-417-8240]
Alan: Anyway, that chair regularly sells for $9799. We have it on sale for $8799, which is the basic price of the synthetic leather, $8799, and that’ll include the free shipping to you, and the carryover of the three-year, parts-and-labor warranty, and I’ll throw in a couple of other goodies for you, if you do order it from me. Give me a call at 888 – actually, give me a – yeah, give me a call at the showroom, it’s 801-817-82 – or no, sorry, 801-417-8240, that’s 801-417-8240, and I’d be happy to chitchat with you about that chair. Well, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com,’ and that is our biweekly massage chair industry update.
