The new and very popular IT-8500 has a few upgrades from the IT-8200, which I spoke about in a previous blog post. There have also been some changes made to the remote control to make it a little more user friendly. Some of the terms on the IT-8200 remote were not very clear. Infinite Therapeutics has made an effort to make it a little more intuitive with the remote control of the IT-8500 massage chair.

Here are the improvements:

1. The air bag strength button has been changed from the IT-8200 to read “Air Intensity” on the IT-8500. This is located on the right side of the remote below the “Air Bags” button and will adjust the air intensity as visualized on the LED screen.

2. In the IT-8200 massage chair, the foot rollers were adjusted by a button labeled “Trolley.” Not sure why but the new label for this button reads “Foot Rollers” (good call!).

3. On the IT-8200 remote, when you pushed the “Twist” button, the strength of the massage would be displayed on the LED screen (which could not be adjusted, by the way). On the IT-8500 the label has been changed to read “Seat Swivel.” That is how it reads on the LED display as well.

4. The “Part” button on the IT-8200 has been changed to “Zone” on the IT-8500. The part button alluded to the part of the body where the rollers would work. Now the zone button allows the user to stop the rollers in a particular range of the spine.

5. The “Mode” button on the IT-8200, which had been used to pick a particular function of the chair,  now, logically, says “Functions.”

6. The “Up/Down” button on the IT-8200 represented the moving of the rollers up and down the spine to a desired position. Now the button reads “Roller Adjust” in the IT-8500. It seems that either way, it is pretty clear what that the button does.

Most of these label changes make sense and will create a more user-friendly environment in the new IT-8500. Having said that, every chair has their label issues where it is not immediately clear what a button means or does. The learning curve on a new chair can be a little steep no matter what the buttons say but once the user is familiar with the chair buttons get pushed without any recognition at all of what the label actually is. So, in other words, don’t feel like you are missing out with the IT-8200 simply because different labels are on the remote. You’ll get the hang of it fairly quickly.

The chairs both work wonderfully regardless of the labels on the remote!
