Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – September 22, 2015”
Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015. Welcome, it’s good to see you again, not a whole lot of things to cover today, so it’ll be a little bit shorter.
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: But as far as stock status goes, I think pretty much everything’s in stock right now. We even ordered a Panasonic MA73 the other day, and even that was in stock, so that’s a good sign. All the new models that’ve been announced, you know, like the iRobotics 7, the Osaki Japan chair, or JP Premium chair, those are all in stock. Apparently, Human Touch is coming out with a new chair, I don’t know much about it yet, I understand it is another model that was made, or is being made by the same company that made the Johnson chairs, so a Taiwanese-made chair. I heard that that was coming out, someone told me that it was out, I’ve not heard any more about it, but as I do hear about it, I will let you know. DreamWaves are in stock, Infinity chairs are in stock, the Iyashi ‘Black’ on black was out of stock until just this week, but I think there’s pretty good stock on almost everything right now, so anything you want to get, now’s the time. Of course, we’re moving in to the fourth quarter, and that’s when things get crazy busy. Companies are stocking up for that season, but just wanted to let you know that if you do want to order a chair for Christmas, or you know, maybe wait โ you know, maybe order early โ don’t wait until, you know, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, which is when things go absolutely crazy.
[SCREEN TEXT: California Store Update]
Alan: OK, let’s see, as far as the store in California goes, oh my heavens, it is the slowest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. The plans were not approved by the owners, there need to be โ and all we’re doing is putting up one wall, one wall, that’s it, and changing some outlets, but I guess there’s a code 24, or title 24, or something in California, where if you change outlets, or add outlets, or whatever, you have to โ or move air conditioning, or you know, vents, you have to diagram the loading, and all this kind of stuff that comes along with this. It’s very, very labor intensive, and very tedious, and in my mind, very much a pain in my rumpus, but so all the liability insurances are finally in place, we finally got everything done there, we’re just waiting for the plans to be updated, and to be approved by the owners, and then we can submit to the City of Cerritos. But hopefully we’ll have a phone number for that store pretty soon, we just can’t get one until we know for sure we can go in there and do โ make the changes โ but anyway, the store is still coming along, but it’s slow. I was hoping the first two weeks of October, now it’s looking, maybe, hopefully, the last two weeks of October, we hopefully will get going in October, knock on wood, and this is a wood desk, so, but let’s hope that that works.
[SCREEN TEXT: iRobotics 7 Coming to Our Showroom!]
Alan: We’re getting the i7, the iRobotics 7, in our showroom. It was supposed to be here last week, and it didn’t come, it was supposed to be here yesterday, and it didn’t come, today it’s supposed to be in, so and it’s about noon here, and it’s still not in, but I’m looking forward to get that iRobotics 7 here. I was very impressed, one of my customers had an issue, a customer in Pennsylvania had a concern about his chair not working on his neck right. So, they talked to him over the phone, with the techs down there at Luraco in Dallas, and couldn’t get it figured out. So, they actually sent a tech, from Luraco, not a third-party, Jez Enterprises type of tech, that’s outsourced by all the massage chair companies for warranty work, this was actually a tech from Luraco, that flew out to him, to see what was really going on. And because of the height of this fellow, I think he was 6′ 4″, and the way it was working for his torso, there was a problem with the way that the rollers were hitting the neck. So, they are going back to Luraco, and to make that adjustment for this fellow, which of course, will benefit everybody, but I was very impressed with their eagerness to go, and make things right with this customer of mine. I couldn’t be happier, and my customer is very content as well, with the treatment that he’s getting, to make sure that the chair is just right, but we’re getting the 7 in this week. As soon as I get it, we’ll start doing videos, and we’ll start doing โ I’ll do a review on it, and whatnot โ but I’m quite excited to get it, I just wish the bloody thing would come.
[SCREEN TEXT: 18 Months/0% Interest Financing October 7 – 13]
Alan: Also, we have Synchrony Bank financing for 18 months from October 7th to October 13th, that’s for Columbus Day. So, from the 7th to the 13th, you can get 18-month, 0% interest financing through Synchrony Bank. Remember, that’s only a few times a year, and the next time, I think, is over Thanksgiving, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but other than that, you’re out of luck, as far as the 18-month, 0% interest financing goes, until next year.
[SCREEN TEXT: Titan Alpine vs. Titan 8400 Review]
Alan: Oh, I did an article review, comparing the Alpine to the 8400, they’re both Titan chairs, the TP-Pro Alpine and the TP-Pro 8400. I have them both in my showroom, they’re both good chairs, but there are differences between them, and I would have to say, the Alpine outsells the 8400 by quite a bit. Well, in this review, it’s a comparative review, comparing feature for feature, and comparing feedback from customers, and my own experience in the chair. I discuss, you know, what chair has what advantages, and so take a look at that review. It’s in our blog, or article library, how ever you want to call it, and you can go in there, and read this review, it’s a one blog post review comparing those two chairs. So, if you’re considering L-track chairs, those are two of the predominant chairs in the market, so you can see how I โ you know, what the comparative review is all about โ contrasts and similarities.
[SCREEN TEXT: Customer Interview on YouTube]
Alan: Also, I did an interview with a customer of mine, Philip Tyler from New York, he bought the Apex Ultra, and we actually did a review, or sorry, an interview, about a week ago, and I posted it on YouTube, and you can go see that interview on our YouTube channel. Our YouTube channel is ‘massagechairrelief,’ all one word, lowercase, but you can โ we have other customer reviews as well โ and we’re always inviting our customers to be interviewed by me, to talk about their experience with buying a chair, their experience with buying it from us, the experience of actually having the chair, and what it’s done for them, symptomatically, and otherwise. But Philip’s is a good interview, he talks about the Apex Ultra, which is another L-track chair that we have, also from the Osaki/Titan family, and he talks about that chair, and how he uses it, and what it’s done for him, it’s pretty cool. These interviews are great, because these are people that’ve actually gone through the process of shopping, they’ve done their due diligence, they’ve done their triage, as far as figuring out what chair they want to look at, and what chair they don’t want to look at. So, it’s a great time to listen to people that’ve actually gone through the experience, and I try to ask fairly objective questions. I don’t say ‘Hey, tell me how great Massage Chair Relief was,’ or ‘Tell me how awesome I am,’ nothing like that. This is just asking them questions about their experience, about the chair, and pros and cons, and you know, the good and bad of the experience, so take a look at that interview. You know, I think that’s just about it for this week. Again, as soon as we get the iRobotics 7, I’ll do some videos on it, that we can have out in the next month or two, because we’ve got some other ones that we have to put out first, I think for the โ what chairs did we do, we’ve still got some more on the 4000, and I think we just did a bunch on the Ultra โ but anyway, there’s lots of videos to come. But if you have any questions about the iRobotics 7, call me, I should it have it this week, knock on wood again, I should have it this week. If you have any questions about anything else, please feel free to call me.
[SCREEN TEXT: 888-259-5380]
Alan: Oh, also, about the interviews, if you want to be interviewed about your experience with a massage chair, or your experience with shopping for a massage chair, or whatever, if you feel like you have some information that could be gleaned, and could benefit people that are watching these videos, or any of my customers, or potential customers please feel free to get a hold of me, I’d love to have you โ I’d love to interview you, if we feel that it’s a fit for our platform โ but anyway, you can give me a call at 888-259-5380, and I’d be happy to chitchat with you. Of course, you can email me, you can reach out to me through the website, you can chat with me on the website, you can make comments on our Facebook, or our YouTube channel, we love โ I’ll answer whatever I can, I try to handle as many as I can โ but if you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.
