Alan: Hi, this is Dr. Alan Weidner from 'Massage-Chair-Relief.com' and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for Friday, December 2nd, 2016, and we just finished our Black Friday/Cyber Monday rush. And it was crazy busy, and we certainly saw more sales than we'd anticipated. And so, again, you know, we've got still some time before Christmas shipping deadlines occur.
[SCREEN TEXT: Christmas Shipping Deadlines]
Alan: And as a matter of fact, these are the shipping deadlines: December 5th, which is Monday, is the last guaranteed date for white-glove delivery before the 25th. Now, the 25th is on a Sunday, so the last shipping date would be the 23rd, which is Friday before Christmas, and the last guaranteed date for regular curbside delivery is next Friday, so the 9th. So, if you want guaranteed delivery, order before the 9th. If you want guaranteed white-glove delivery, order this weekend, or Monday at the very latest. Now, that doesn’t mean that you're not going to get your chair before Christmas if you order after the 9th or the 5th, it just mean that it's not guaranteed. So, let's say you live in Southern California, and you order a Human Touch chair, or an Inada chair, or an Ogawa chair, we can go pick those chairs right – or a Panasonic, for that matter – we can go pick those chairs up right away, and deliver them to you. We can usually do that within a few days, like two or three days, at most. So, but be careful – or if you're in the western United States, and you order like an Infinity chair that ships out of Seattle, it'll come – it'll probably get to you within a week before Christmas. So, anyway, but we're just saying for guaranteed shipping, and remember, they're taking, these massage companies are taking in to account not just the time of the year, and the busy schedule that they have, which is going to probably delay some deliveries, but it's also taking in to account possible weather issues, and if there's a bad snow storm somewhere in the United States, and you’ve ordered your chair, that could delay you a day or two. So, just be very, very aware that, you know, deadlines for getting a chair for Christmas are fast approaching, the guaranteed delivery, but don’t ever give up hope, even if you order on the 22nd, or the 21st, or that week of Christmas, and we can't get the chair to you in time, we can send you a gift card that you can put under the tree, that your loved ones can open up, and see that they’ve got something special coming in the next few days after Christmas. Anyway, just, that’s my warning to you. Alright, now let's see, what else have we got here today?
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: We've got, as far as stock status goes, I have not heard of any chairs that are not in stock right now. This is the season for buying, and so most of the massage chair companies stock up before Black Friday, but then things start to disappear. So, it's only been a few days since Cyber Monday ended, so I haven’t heard anything about stock issues, and sometimes the massage chair companies are not proactive, they don’t tell us when stock is low, or stock is out. We don’t find out until we order something, but I've not heard anything yet, so knock on wood, there's still stock available on all colors, and all models.
[SCREEN TEXT: $700 Off Luraco iRobotics 7]
Alan: OK, let's see, oh, Luraco, a couple things about Luraco, Luraco has $700 off on their very, very popular iRobotics 7 right now, and they do this every Christmas. They did it a year ago, also during the Christmas season, but you can get $700 off on Luraco, and we have a whole bunch of sales going on.
[SCREEN TEXT: Holiday Sales!]
Alan: I mean, Ogawa has $1000 off on their Smart 3D, $500 off on their Ogawa Active, and I think they have $400 off on the Refresh, the Ogawa Refresh, so there's a sale from them. Infinite Therapeutics, or Infinity, has a free lifetime – sorry, not lifetime – free parts-and-labor warranty for three years on all their chairs. Usually their warranty is one year, parts and labor, and their second or third year options are parts only, so you're getting three years parts and labor with Infinity, which is a great deal. And then also, Human Touch is offering a free five-year extended warranty on the Novo XT, the new Novo XT, which is on our website. That’s the 3D L-track from Human Touch, and that’s really the only 3D L-track chair in our inventory, on our website, and in our store. So, that chair, the Novo XT, comes with free white-glove delivery also, but both that chair, and the Navitas will have the five-year extended warranty available through the month of December. Now, all these sales, all these sales are available, are still on, like we thought they were only going to be available until the end of Cyber Monday, or this week, but they’ve all been extended. Like the Ogawa sale has been extended to January 4th, the Human Touch sale is good until the end of December, the Luraco $700 off, I can't remember when that one ends, but I think that goes for another week or two. So, they’ve all been extended, which is great for you guys, who want to get good deals. And of course, there are deals that I can't tell you about, I can't advertise on our website, but we do have some showroom specials, so call our toll-free number, call any of our showrooms, and find out what's cooking as far as extra sales go. You will pleasantly rewarded, and surprised when you call. OK, let's see, what else have we got cooking?
[SCREEN TEXT: Luraco iRobotics i6SL Discontinued]
Alan: OK, Luraco has discontinued their iRobotics 6SL, and I believe they're out of stock, so that chair is done and gone. So, if that’s a chair that you're interested in, you can't get it from us, we've taken it off our website, that is done.
[SCREEN TEXT: Luraco Announces Sliding Price Schedule for Extended Warranty]
Alan: And also, Luraco has announced that they are going to have a sliding schedule for their extended warranty. So, this is kind of interesting, I've never seen this before from a massage chair company, but they're introducing a sliding scale for extended warranty purchases, based on the date of the installation of the order. So, if you buy a chair, and within the first year you decide you want to get the extended warranty, you have one year to get it, and you can get it for $395, which is the price on our website. If you buy it from the first to the second years, it's going to cost – for one or two years after you had the chair installed – it's going to cost you $450. If you buy it between the second and third year, it's $500 for the extended warranty. So, this is the first company that’s actually offered an extended warranty to you after the first month, because most chairs, if you buy it – I think all chairs, if you buy it, you can buy the – you don’t have to buy the extended warranty right away, you have 30 days to decide, and Luraco was like that, but now they’ve got a sliding scale, which I think is fantastic. So, anyway, and after three years, you cannot get an extended warranty, but during the first three years, boy, oh boy, you can get the extended warranty if you want it. That’s pretty cool news.
[SCREEN TEXT: New Model from Infinity - Altera]
Alan: Now, Infinity has a new chair out. It's called the Infinity Altera, and they sent us the information on the chair right – I think it was the day of Black Friday, or the day before Black Friday – and said you can put this up on your website, and have it for sale. Well, I put all the chairs up on the website, and it takes some time to get the chair up on the website, and get all the pictures uploaded, the information written in our own verbiage, and then get our comparison chart updated. So, I, you know, I was just overwhelmed, because Black Friday, from Thanksgiving on, it's just hectic, and that goes on until the end of December. So, I may not get this chair up in the immediate future, but let me tell you a little bit about it. This is a chair that can really fit a smaller frame well. It has an L-track, it has foot rollers, it has, what else does has it got cooking? Let's see, it's got extendable leg – oh, it can handle anywhere from 4' 9" to 6' 2" – but a lot of the chairs can't handle the smaller sizes, below 5', this one is designed to handle that, as well as up to 6' 2". Let's see, it's got the foot rollers, zero, or the space-saving technology. Well, that’s about all I've got on it right now. I don't know about airbags, I don't know about the programs, I don't know much more. Does it have Bluetooth? Yeah, I can't see if it has Bluetooth either, but anyway, that’s a new chair. It's going to retail, or it retails now for $4495, and I'll let you know more about it as I learn more about it, and get it up on the website. But anyway, just to let you know about a new model from – oh, and it's kind of like the Riage, which is the chair that Brookstone carries for Infinity, and the Riage is kind of like the Iyashi – so it's probably in the same vein as the Riage and the Iyashi, but accommodating a different body size. And I don't know anything about the rollers, I don't know how it feels on the neck, I don't know how it feels on the low back, but anyway, just so that you know, that’s cooking.
[SCREEN TEXT: Inada Flex 3s = $4299!]
Alan: Also, Inada dropped the price of their Flex 3s from $5299 to $4299, and I didn’t know this. A customer called me and said 'Hey, would you match Inada's price of $4299?' I thought, Inada, so I checked it, and sure enough, they were selling it for $4299. I must've missed the memo about that, but anyway, that chair is on for $4299. So, remember, the Inada Flex 3s is a Japanese-made chair, nice chair, smaller chair, great stretch program, great for postural correction, but anyway, that chair is on sale.
[SCREEN TEXT: Make-A-Wish Foundation Update]
Alan: Let's see, what else have we got cooking? Oh, Make-A-Wish Foundation, we have, we're about $27,000 in on the Make-A-Wish Foundation. So, we've raised over – well, actually, what happened was two of the submissions that I made on behalf of my customers – and remember, a portion of every sale goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and I submitted two payments that were approximately $2000, and I forgot, they’ve got a new contribution sheet, and I forgot to put the funds toward my page, and it went toward the general donation page. So, I have to get that redone, but I think, when I have that corrected, it'll be about $28,000, so and then we have November still, and December, yeah, we've got, we'll probably hit $30,000 here by the end of the year, and I'm so excited about that. Anyway, thank you, for those of you who purchased from me, thank you, because like I say, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, it's very near and dear to me. If you’ve ever seen any of these videos in the past, where I've talked about it, it's very near and dear to me. It's an organization that helps children realize dreams, and these are children that have terminal, or incurable diseases, and you know, my daughter is a diabetic, and I'm very, very sensitive. She's a type one diabetic, so I'm very, very sensitive to, you know, kids' health, and I love my kids. I got six of them, for heaven's sake, and you never know what could happen. It's a crapshoot when you have kids, you don’t know if they're going to be healthy their whole life, or something is going to pop up, or you never know, or an accident, or who knows what? But I love the Make-A-Wish Foundation, I think they're a very noble outfit, and they do a wonderful thing for our kids. Anyway, enough of that, I didn’t want to go off on that tangent too long.
[SCREEN TEXT: Consumer Electronics Show January 5 - 8, 2017]
Alan: But, and the last thing I want to talk about is the Consumer Electronics Show, is going to be in January, from the 5th – well, I think it's from the 5th to the 8th – I'm going from the 5th to the 7th, and I'm kind of excited to go and see. I've heard rumors that there's a couple of massage chair companies there, for whom I, for which I carry their chairs, that might have some new models. And of course, they don’t tell anything until they reveal it at the CES, which is the short, the acronym for it. But anyway, I will take my video recorder, and I will record that trip to Las Vegas, and if there's anything special to show, or announce, or report, I will get it on video, and I'll put it up on my blog, or on the YouTube channel, for sure. So, anyway, that’s coming up in January, and you know, honestly, I've never been to the CES before, or the Consumer Electronic Show, I've never been. I've heard amazing things about it, I hear it's huge. It's all the latest and greatest gadgets and electronics, but I'm there for the massage chairs, and who knows, maybe there’ll be something else there that'll kind of be cool to see, and I'm sure there will be, but it's the massage chairs that I'm there to see.
[SCREEN TEXT: Please 'Thumbs Up Like' This Video!!]
Alan: Well, you know, by golly, I think that’s it for this edition of the massage chair industry update. I will get another one in before Christmas, but I hope you have a great holiday. I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome, I hope you took a moment to – I mean, you get caught up in the hubbub of Thanksgiving, eh, I mean, like Black Friday/Cyber Monday, family coming, cooking, turkeys galore, and I mean, it's a lot of hubbub – but it's kind of nice to take just a few quiet moments, and just be grateful, reflective and grateful for all the things that we have in this amazing country, that we have good health, that we have children, that we have, you know, parents, and family, and whatnot. It's just a great opportunity – I mean, we should be thankful all year round, for heaven's sake, you know, don’t get me wrong – but Thanksgiving kind of gives you a little extra push to that focus, to that end. So, and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend, and we had a great one. It was good to be with family, and I'm very thankful for family, and thankful for the goodness of life, and I hope you have a fantastic day today, and I will see you again in two weeks. I'm Dr. Alan Weidner from 'Massage-Chair-Relief.com,' have a fantastic day. Bye bye.
