2 Good Tips for Inada Sogno and Inada Yume Users
A lot of what I know about massage chairs comes from folks who ask me questions and then I do the research to find out the answers. Sometimes my clients know more about a particular chair than I do and they enlighten me about their findings. I realized two things this week, one thing about the Inada Yume and one thing about the Inada Sogno massage chair, that I was not completely aware of before. I wanted to share these things with you in this blog.
1. I was asked if the Inada ย Yumeย was a zero gravity chair. It is not listed as a feature of the chair, but I went to the chair in my showroom and checked it out. Zero gravity is not a feature button on the remote control so I just reclined the chair to see if the seat tilted to a 30 degree angle. You see, by definition, zero gravity is a 30 degree tilt of the seat to allow for decompression of the low back joints. Here is an article that I wrote about zero gravity in greater detail for those of you who want to learn more about this increasingly popular massage chair feature:

Well, getting back to the Yume, I reclined the seat back and did not see the seat tilt…until the chair back hit about 60 degrees. At that point the whole chair body rotated up as the chair back continued to a horizonal position. This facilitated a seat tilt of 30 degrees.
The long and short of this is YES…the Inada Yume has a zero gravity feature!
2. The Inada Sognoย Dreamwaveย has a head piece called a Cervical Traction Device. In that head piece there are airbags that massage your neck and shoulders. It is the first massage chair, that I am aware of, that has airbags that massage the neck instead of rollers. You can ย lift the headpiece up and over the back of the chair to get the rollers to work on your neck, but some folks claim that the chair rollers don’t go high enough up the neck. I was visiting with Cliff Levin, the President of Inada USA who came to visit us this week, and asked him about this. He said that all you have to do is over-ride the initial body scan of the chair by doing the following:
a.) Lift the headpiece up and over the back of the chair so that your neck is right over the rollers,
b.) Recline the chair to where you want to begin the massage,
c.) Turn on the program that you want,
d.) When the remote control display says “Fine tune SHOULDER POSITION”, push the up arrow of the button on the remote with up/down arrows until the rollers hit the top of your spine, just under your skull.
It is as easy as that. I tried it and it was awesome! Worked perfectly for me.
Hope this little tips help enrich your experience with either of these phenomenal massage chairs.
