[SCREEN TEXT: Manual Settings]
Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today I’m going to demonstrate the manual settings on the IT-8500 Infinity chair from Infinite Therapeutics. The reason I’m going to do this video is because the feedback I get from most of my customers is that the owner’s manual is a little weak with regard to explaining how some of the functions work. It’ll show you the buttons on the remote, but how those buttons work is sometimes another story. So, I wanted to show something to you so that you would be able to see how to use the IT-8500 in the manual mode. It’s very important, I’ve had customers call me who’ve owned the chair for months, and didn’t know about this, and so they were just using the automatic settings, but one of the powerful tools of the massage chair is the ability to adjust whatever you want done, on your spine, manually.

Alan: If you want the chair to move to your neck, and you just want it to do kneading, and you want it to be at a certain speed, and you want it to stay in one place, those are all things you can adjust manually – a lot of the time you can not adjust those things automatically, on the automatic programs – so the manual settings are really quite powerful, and give you a lot of flexibility. So, what I’m going to do is I’m going to show you how they work on the IT-8500 because it’s not as intuitive. On a lot of chairs, it’ll show you pictures of, you know, ‘Kneading,’ ‘Tapping,’ it’ll show you zone, or point, or whatever, of where the chair, you can move the rollers to on the chair. It’s not as intuitive on this remote, but it’s very, very easy, so I’m going to show you how to do it. So, we turn the power button on first of all, and usually what we do is we push one of these automatic programs. Well, we’re not doing automatic programs today, we’re doing manual programs. So, what you can do is you can push – let’s say we want to move the rollers up to – OK, let’s say we want to do just a thorough, localized massage to the neck. So, we can push ‘Zone,’ and you’ll see up – oh, first of all, we push ‘Function’ to go to the manual – whenever you go manual, you have to push ‘Function,’ which is right underneath the power button. Then, you can go to ‘Zone,’ and you’ll see the ‘Zone’ area up there, there’s three diagrams. The first one is a caricature of a body with a red line that goes all the way down the back, that means the rollers will go up and down the back. No matter what you tell – no matter what the rollers are doing, whether it’s ‘Kneading’ or ‘Tapping’ or ‘Percussing’ – it’ll work the whole spine.

Alan: If I push ‘Zone’ again, you’ll see the second little image come up, and that allows you to have the rollers work in a zone of your spine. So, maybe you just want – and that’s usually six inches up or down from a spot – so let’s say you want it to work on your mid back, you can have those rollers work in a 6 to 12-inch zone on your mid back, or your low back, or your neck. Now, if I push it again, it moves to the last one, which has, instead of a solid red line, or a broken red line, it’s got little dots. Well, that means you can get a point massage wherever you want it. So, let’s say you have it on a point massage, and you want move it up to the, down to the low back. Over here, are the ‘Roller Adjust’ buttons, you push down, and you’ll see here, the red circles show you where the rollers are going, down, down, down, and now they’re in the low back, now I can leave it right there. So, now we have moved, we have told the chair that we just want to have a massage in one spot, and that we want that spot to be the low back. So, now we’ve got the rollers down there, but now we want to tell the rollers what to do. Well, over here are the modes, you see ‘Kneading,’ and if I push ‘Function’ again, it’ll change to ‘Tapping,’ see the little light there, ‘Tapping.’ ‘Dual’ is ‘Kneading’ and ‘Tapping,’ and ‘Knocking’ is a different type of percussion. Then, there’s a ‘Shiatsu,’ and then the ‘Sync,’ which syncs the vibration of the chair, or the vibration of the massage, with any music that you’re playing, and we’re not going to show that.

Alan: So, now we have told the chair we want to have a specific massage done on the low back. We want it to be – we’re going to do ‘Kneading’ and ‘Tapping’ – and we can adjust all of that from those settings. So again, just in review, move it to the ‘Zone.’ You can use the ‘Zone’ buttons to either move it, to tell the chair that you want to do a specific place, a region, or the entire spine. I have moved it here to a specific spot. It looks like the rollers have gone back up from the ‘Sync’ program, but let’s say I want to do it in the low back, so we push the rollers down. Oh, let’s do the middle back, so we’re doing the middle back, and I want it to do ‘Kneading’ and ‘Tapping’ – oh, and we push the ‘Function’ – and now we’ve got ‘Kneading’ and ‘Tapping’ in that area. So, that’s how you do the manual settings, very, very easy, if you want to adjust the width of the rollers, you can adjust that as well. if you want to adjust the speed of the rollers, you can adjust the speed. Even though the IT-8500 does not have an intensity adjustment – like the rollers don’t move forward and back with the 3D roller massage – you can adjust the speed, which will simulate a more vigorous, intense massage, even though it keeps the rollers in the same place. So, those are manual settings of the IT-8500 remote control of the massage chair, very easy to use, I hope this helped you. It’ll help you, you know, isolate your massage to a particular area.
