New babies require lots of attention as they develop and grow. More often than not a newborn simply wants to be held and feel the closeness of a parent or other adult he/she has grown fond to. Holding a baby off and on throughout the day, carrying around and bending up and down to pick up or lay down requires much more physical activity than one may have hoped for. Delegating responsibility of the holding and cuddling as well as a good stretching routine can help to alleviate the physical discomfort from so much extra exertion after just giving birth.
