Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we’re going to talk about airbags in the Osaki OS-3D Pro Dreamer, that address the hips, the back – or the hips – the seat, and the waist. On this chair, when you turn on the hip airbags, it basically turns on a series of airbags that adjust the entire, or massage the entire low back area. Now, airbags typically are used to compress, like arm airbags are used to compress the arm, and calf-and-foot airbags are used to compress. The airbags are also used to compress in the hip, but in the waist, airbags are used to inflate, to rotate the lumbar spine, or the low back. Airbags in the seat inflate to lift – or lift the entire seat – or elevate one side, then the other, to induce a rotation, or a twisting, in the pelvis. So, we’re going to see some of that functionality here today when I turn on the hip and seat airbags of the Osaki OS-3D Pro Dreamer.

Alan: Now, you can see right now, the airbags on the seat – or on the hips – are inflating. They inflate in to the side of the thighs, it’ll inflate in the front, and then you’ll see the back inflating as well, so it’s a sequential inflation. I’m sure they’re thinking, when they make this chair, that it’s going to increase the circulation, and I really don’t know if it helps that much with that, but one thing that the hip airbags do, do, is they hold the hips in place while the rollers go up and down the back. So, it kind of gives some traction to those hip airbags, but they’re inflating fairly firmly, you can feel how firm they are here, and then they inflate again in the front. In a moment though, we’re seeing now, the waist airbags inflate. See how the waist, on the right hand side, is inflating? It’s not inflated on the left, but the airbag, you can see it protruding on the right side, now on the left, it’s protruding. And you’ll notice – and the purpose of these waist airbags is to – one side inflate, then the other, to induce a rotation in the lumbar spine, and it’s doing that while the hip airbags are also inflated. Now, you can also see the seat airbags inflating. The left side’s inflated, you can see a bit of a mound on the left side of the seat. Now, that will deflate, and the right side inflates, you see the inflation on the right side of the seat.

Alan: So, the hip airbags do compress, which is a traditional way that airbags function in a massage chair, but you can also see that it moves to induce motion of the spine as well. So, the airbags are designed to move the spine, rotating it, move the seat, rotating the hip, but also compressing against the thigh, to give a little bit of a massage of the iliotibial bands on the sides of the thigh, but primarily to hold the hips in place while the rollers go up and down your back. Those are the airbags from the waist, the seat, and the hip of the Osaki OS-3D Pro Dreamer.
