Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and today I’m going to introduce you to the new Cozzia Quantum massage chair. It’s a 5D massage chair, and I’ll explain what that means in just a moment.
This is the top-of-the-line Cozzia massage chair. It’s been out for a couple of years. I first encountered it at the Las Vegas Furniture Market a couple of years ago. I remember it being a very smooth and quiet chair, and it still is very much that way.
It is a split-track chair, and you’ve got four rollers that travel down the SL track all the way underneath your buttocks. The flex track, or split track, allows that L-shaped frame to flatten out so you can get a better stretch. That’s what’s unique about the flex or split track. A lot of chairs have flex or split tracks nowadays, and the Quantum is one of them.
This chair has what we call a 5D adaptive roller mechanism. You’ve probably heard of 2D, 3D, 4D, and now 5D.
2D and 3D refer to the rollers moving up and down, side to side, and forward and backward through the X, Y, and Z axes. 4D refers to the rhythm or speed of the rollers. Some programs have variations in speed, so the rollers can move up slowly, down slowly, down quickly, in and out, and side to side. That’s the 4D.
Now, with 5D, they call it an adaptive roller mechanism because the rollers can sense the tension in your muscles. Most chairs, when you do a body scan, will move the rollers up to the base of the skull to determine where it is. The rollers don’t go too high and beat your skull because that would be painful. Then they move down to determine where your shoulders are, so the rollers know when to begin broadening below the shoulders.
That’s what most body scans do, and they usually take anywhere from 20 to 60 seconds.
An adaptive roller mechanism, or 5D adaptive roller mechanism, allows the rollers to move outward and sense the tension in your muscles all the way up and down your spine. As that tension changes throughout the course of the program, the information is fed back to the chair’s computer. The rollers then adjust to changes in the intensity or tension of your muscles.
So, that’s what the 5D stands for. I don’t know why they call it 5D. Probably to make it sound like, “My chair has 5D, and your chair has 4D.” I don’t know, but it’s probably not the best term to describe an adaptive roller mechanism. Still, it’s pretty cool.
We’re seeing more and more 5D chairs, which again means that the chair can read the tension along your spine with thousands of feedback points throughout the entire auto program. It can then adjust the massage based on the feedback coming from the roller mechanism.
The chair has 73 airbags, which is quite a bit. It also has a pivoting footrest. Most chairs have footrests that extend in and out to accommodate taller or shorter bodies. This one also has a pivoting footrest, and you don’t see that in a lot of massage chairs.
We could probably name on one hand all the chairs that have a pivoting footrest. The footrest moves down and up, down and up, so it adds some passive mobility to the ankle joint. That can be very soothing, and it can also be therapeutic if you’ve had ankle problems, a history of ankle sprains, or scar tissue in the ankles.
This chair also has a 12.3-inch remote control or screen that you operate the chair from. It pivots inward, so you can sit in your chair and watch what’s going on on the screen. And when I say “watch,” you can actually play YouTube videos on it.
It also has a monster surround-sound system, with speakers on the bottom and speakers on the top. When you’re sitting in the chair, it’s almost like you can’t tell where the sound is coming from. It’s completely immersive, and I really like that about this chair.
When you combine that with the display, you feel like you’re in a movie theater. It’s a really nice experience.
That’s the actual tablet remote, but you also have quick keys down here on the right armrest. The quick keys can do most of what the tablet does. You can turn the chair on and off, change programs, adjust the position of the chair, and adjust the speed of the rollers.
Those are what we typically call quick keys.
On the other armrest, you have a wireless charger for your cell phone. You also have a health sensor. You may have seen this in some other chairs. It’s becoming increasingly popular.
You can place your hand and palm on this device, which is located right here on the armrest, and it will measure your oxygen saturation, stress level, perspiration, and pulse. It then uses that information to create a program catered to your biometrics.
That’s pretty cool, and it’s very easy to use on this chair as well.
It has AI voice control, and I wish I could tell you exactly what that means and what it can really do, but I’m not as familiar with that feature as I’d like to be. I tried to find information about it in the owner’s manual and the product description, but it was very difficult to figure out. So, I can’t give you specific details about that.
You’ve got a very quiet, soothing massage chair. The first time I experienced it at the furniture market two years ago, I remember being impressed by how gentle the chair was. Yet, it was still firm and smooth.
When I say gentle, I mean the massage was smoother, and the rollers were a little more nuanced. Maybe that’s the word I want to use. But it’s a very relaxing chair.
It can dig in, don’t get me wrong. It has some strong, deep roller massages in it. So, if you want something a little more gentle or something more intense, this chair will pretty much take care of all of that.
What’s unique about this chair is that it can accommodate a user weighing up to 320 pounds. Most chairs have a maximum weight capacity of 265 to 285 pounds, while some can handle 300 pounds. This one can handle up to 320 pounds.
Now, it’s a little narrower than some of our bigger chairs, so it may not be able to accommodate a larger girth, but it can handle the weight.
Speaking of body fit, the published maximum height for this chair is 6 feet 6 inches. It will physically fit someone who’s 6 feet 6 inches, but the rollers are not necessarily going to come up and massage the neck of someone that tall.
We see this across the board. The published height limitations or allowances are commonly generous. Again, you’ve got to try the chairs out because you might be 6 feet 6 inches and think, “Hey, this chair says it fits someone who’s 6 feet 6 inches,” but the rollers might only come up to the base of your neck.
So, does it really fit you? It might fit your body, but it doesn’t necessarily fit your massage-chair needs.
I really want to bring that point home to you. If you don’t try the chairs out and you’re just looking at an online description or watching a video where someone tells you that a chair fits people who are 6 feet 4 inches, 6 feet 5 inches, or 6 feet 6 inches, sit in the bloody thing first! You don’t know for sure that the chair is going to fit you.
You might say, “Oh, I’m 6 feet 6 inches. The chair says it fits someone who’s 6 feet 6 inches.” But I’ll guarantee you, the rollers will not go all the way up your neck.
This chair also has a closed-toe ottoman in the footrest. That will only fit up to a certain foot size, around a size 13. So, if you’ve got bigger feet, this may not be the best fit for you.
We’ll talk about that a little bit in the pros and cons video that I do for the new massage chairs.
This chair comes fully assembled, which is fantastic. You don’t have to worry about putting things together. However, it requires a minimum 32-inch-wide doorway to get through.
If you’ve got a narrower doorway than 32 inches, you’re probably going to have to take off the panels and possibly part of the shoulder massage mechanism or housing. That can be a real pain in the rumpus, just so you know.
Again, we’ll talk about that in the pros and cons video.
But anyway, it’s a beautiful chair. It has a 3-year parts-and-labor warranty.
You probably saw from the side view that the colors are nice. This one is champagne, and I think there are three or four other colors available. They’re very nice, tasteful colors.
I really like this chair. I really enjoyed it. I sat in it two years ago, and then I hadn’t sat in it for quite some time. We got the chairs in our showrooms, and when I sat in it again, it impressed me even more.
It just felt like a very, very well-built, very nice chair.
Cozzia is the same company that imports Ogawa and JP Medics chairs. Their chairs are all over the place. This chair is built in the Ogawa or EastPale factory in China, which is a very good factory.
It’s not just Cozzia, Ogawa, or JP Medics chairs that are made there. Other distributors, including some Osaki chairs, have also been made in the same factory.
It’s a good factory. It’s arguably one of the top five massage-chair factories in China.
Anyways, I think that’s it. I hope you found this video helpful. If you did, please feel free to give us a thumbs-up, like us on our YouTube channel, and help us spread the word about massage chairs by sharing this or any of our videos with your friends and family on your various social media platforms.
I’m Dr. Alan Weidner. Bye-bye.
