We’re often asked by customers in our showrooms about massage chairs in the $2,000 to $3,000 price range.
The reason for that is simple—if you spend any time on social media or search online for massage chairs, you’ll see a lot of advertisements from companies selling direct-to-consumer models in that price range. The marketing looks great—the videos are polished, the graphics are impressive—but you typically don’t get the opportunity to actually sit in the chair. And you often know very little about the product or the factory it comes from.
Most of these chairs are manufactured in smaller factories using lower-cost components and less rigorous quality control. As a result, they tend to break down more frequently. In many cases, the life expectancy of these chairs may only be about a year. That’s why we sometimes refer to them as “disposable chairs.”
One of the main reasons we don’t carry those types of chairs is because we offer a lifetime labor warranty. That means we will pay for a service technician to repair your chair for as long as you own it, regardless of the length of the manufacturer’s warranty.
However, we’re not able to offer that level of support on cheaper chairs. Many of those products come with very limited warranties—sometimes just one year on parts, or even less. They tend to require frequent repairs, and parts can become unavailable after a short period of time. Covering labor on those chairs would simply not be sustainable.
Even if parts are available, the cost and frequency of repairs can add up quickly—and in many cases, the chairs don’t last much longer than a year anyway.
That said, we do carry some chairs in lower price ranges, but only from reputable, brand-name manufacturers. These companies provide valid warranties, reliable support departments, and stand behind their products during the warranty period.
That’s why you won’t see a large number of ultra-low-cost chairs in our showrooms—we focus on quality, reliability, and long-term support.
I hope that explanation was helpful.
I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
