White glove service is becoming increasingly popular for massage chair shoppers. I suspect it is because the newer chairs require quite a bit of assembly and most folks just don’t want to mess with it. Most massage chairs weigh close to 300 pounds in the box and moving that box is very difficult particularly if you are alone to move it.
Free shipping is what is known as curbside, threshold, or door-to-door delivery. We include that with every chair sale on our site. Most ย retailers do. If you want the chair to be brought into your home or business, placed in the room you want, unpacked and assembled, and then have the packing material taken away (and there is a lot of that!), then you would order White Glove Service or White Glove Delivery. It is usually around $200 to get this option.
Here is a very important tip for you if you get this type of delivery…
Make sure you check over the chair thoroughly as soon as it is assembled. ย If there is a problem with the chair that is a result of the delivery, i.e. holes, dents, or other damage, I would suggest you call your retailer right away and, if the contact information is available, call the maker of the chair too before the delivery guys leave. At the very least, make sure you annotate on the delivery receipt any problems you have encountered with the chair that may have resulted from delivery problems.ย
The thing is this…if you sign off on the chair, which you will be asked to do with all deliveries, whether they be white glove or regular curbside delivery, you can not have any recourse with the shipping company. They have done their job and are now out of the loop once you sign off on the chair delivery.
If you find something amiss with the function of the chair after the delivery folks have left, then you have recourse with the maker of the chair through the warranty. But if your beef is with something wrong with the chair that is shipping-related, take action immediately and don’t wait until the shippers leave and you they have your signature on the shipping receipt.
Also, I might add that is would behoove you to keep a copy of the shipping receipt with the copy of your notes or comments, if any, on it. This will be your proof of record.
I hope this helps.
