The Importance of Taking Breaks in the Morning

As the Internet has become an essential part of our everyday lives, more and more of us are spending the bulk of our work days in front of a computer. And while the Internet has undeniably made some things easier, it also comes with some drawbacks. Having to sit at a desk for several hours at a time has led to more and more people experience somatic illnesses. Increasingly, people all over the world are being afflicted by headaches, eyestrain and lower back pain. However, taking one simple daily step may not only prevent against those maladies, it’ll make you a more efficient worker.

A research study carried out by Baylor University found that, of the nearly 1,000 workers they surveyed, those that took quality breaks were healthier than those that did not. To maximize your break time, you should take it in the earlier part of your workday and make sure it involves doing something you actually like. By doing something as simple as stepping away from your desk and enjoying a nice bottle of water, you could reduce the fatigue and body pain you feel at the end of the day.
