A recent study conducted in Sweden found that people who have heart attacks are often not prescribed with antidepressant medication after they have a cardiac event, even though stress and depression greatly increase a person’s risk factor for having a heart attack. In order to keep their stress levels nominal, heart attack patients should make it a point to regularly engage in stress busting activities such as walking, listening to calming music and getting regular massage sessions.
