A recent study conducted by the Royal College of Music’s Centre for Performance Science found that people who attend live concerts experience a decrease in the levels of the stress hormones cortisol and cortisone in their systems. While the study only used a sample size of 117 and was performed on attendees of classical music concerts, those who live with chronic stress might want to check in a performance by their favorite band the next time they feel emotionally overwhelmed.
