Alan: Hi, I'm Dr. Alan Weidner from 'Massage-Chair-Relief.com' and today I'm going to demonstrate to you the buttocks airbags of the Novo XT massage chair from Human Touch. Now, as you know, or may or may not know, the Novo XT is an L-track chair, which has rollers that go down the back and under the butt. Well, these buttocks airbags don’t touch the area that the rollers hit, where these airbags hit, is kind of just behind the femur, or the hip bone, when it comes in to the pelvis. Behind that femur, there's these muscle attachments to the femur head – and I can't remember what muscles they are – I think it might be the gluteus medius, but these airbags are designed to dig in there. Now, I'm going to show you the airbags function without me in them. If I sit in it, you won't even see what they're doing, but when I'm out of the chair, and I turn on the airbags, which I'll do now, you'll see that they really hyper-inflate, and you may wonder 'Well, what are those airbags doing?'

Alan: You might think that they're coming on to the side of your hips to massage, or work the iliotibial band. That’s not correct, they're like little airbags that are digging right in to the, right behind the hip bone. So, I want you to see this. So, let's turn this on, and OK, now we're going to inflate these airbags. You're going to see them inflate. They're going to both inflate simultaneously, together. Let's make sure I've got – yeah, and it'll inflate, and it'll kind of – like most airbags, they inflate sequentially, but they are inflating on the left, and the right. And it looks like, you would think that they're inflating on the side of your hips, on the outside of your hips, like by your thighs, but it's not. When you're sitting on it, the weight of your body pushes these airbags down, and it's actually digging underneath, behind the hip bone, as I mentioned to you earlier. Now, you'll see that they're both inflating at the same time.

Alan: And then after a couple of those, you'll see now that the left one's inflating on its own, separate, independent of this one, and then this one will deflate, and this one will inflate. So, it kind of – while it's also inflating, and digging in to those muscles, it's also moving your – kind of moving your hips from side to side a little bit as well. So, it induces a little bit of a passive motion in to the hip, kind of the lumbosacral area. So, those are the hip airbags of the Novo XT massage chair from Human Touch. Nice airbags, you can adjust the intensity of them, of course, as you can with most airbag features on any massage chair, but you can adjust the intensity on this one, but that’s the hip airbags.
