There are tons of self-help guides out there to help us deal with stress. They want us to believe that all stress is bad, but that is not true. There is such a thing as good stress. Good stress is when we have the tools to fix something and overcome the stressor. Studies have found that people age better when they are presented with small amounts of stress that force them to put in some extra work to overcome it. This ties into the old adage of “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”
