In a previous article we mentioned how there are certain people who can spread stress at work, but this one is about the people who can actually reduce it. This people are what we call ‘friends’. Having work friends actually has health benefits in the form of reduction of stress and stress resilience!
In fact, continued research shows that our co-workers are the top reason why we love going to work every day! Positive relationships at work actually increase our productivity and lower our stress levels. So if you don’t already have a few friends at work, you might want to practice some basic relationship-building skills!
Do develop new friends at work, become aware of your co-workers’ interests, hobbies, and personalities for starters. Then, prioritize time with them, share a meal, get together outside of work, and make it a point to keep in touch!
