Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – December 4, 2013”
Alan: Well hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we are giving you our massage chair industry update for December 4th, 2013. We are right in the heart of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday week, and the specials that we have, so it’s a very, very busy week for massage chairs.
[SCREEN TEXT: Cyber Week Specials!!]
Alan: I’m wearing a little different color shirt today. My wife commented after – she watches all the videos I make, and she kind of mentioned to me that I wear the same shirts on the updates, and the same shirt, a different shirt, but the same one on the videos that I make, the feature videos, the massage chair feature videos – and she said ‘People are going to think that you don’t have any other clothes to wear, and that’s it.’ Well, she’s got a point there, so we went out and bought some shirts, and had our logo put on them, and this is one of them. This is the red one, and I kind of like it, it’s a nice bright red color, and I love the way the logo contrasts to it. Anyway, sorry to get in to fashion statements, but I am going to be wearing some different shirts over the next little while. I’ll probably still be wearing my blue, button-down, collared shirt with the brown dress pants for my feature videos because that’s kind of my signature look, but that’s how people recognize me, but on some of these other videos, we’ll try something a little different to keep it fresh.
[SCREEN TEXT: Cyber Monday Sale Extended Through Sunday]
Alan: Anyway yes, as I mentioned, Black Friday was last Friday and Cyber Monday on Monday and we’ve extended our Cyber Monday throughout this week. You can call us at the showroom or on our toll-free number, 888-259-5380, and find out what our sales are, and what we’ve got going on, and they’re good sales. We’ve been selling lots of chairs.
[SCREEN TEXT: Call 888-259-5380 for Up-to-the- Minute Sales]
Alan: I try to answer all the calls, so please feel free to call, I’d be happy to talk to you about any chair, anything that you’re thinking about getting, or that you’re not sure, or comparing chairs, whatnot, I’m always available.
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: As far as stock goes, we had good stock a week ago, but now we’re getting low, and I warned you that this would happen. I told you that with the popular chairs, the stock would dwindle quickly. As of today, the 7200H from Osaki in the ‘Black,’ ‘Brown,’ and ‘Creme’ are back-ordered until mid January. The ‘Black’ Iyashi, and that Iyashi has become a very popular chair, but the ‘Black’ Iyashi, and the IT-9800 in ‘Brown,’ from Infinite Therapeutics, are back-ordered until the end of January. So, if you want an Iyashi, order as soon as you can, because they’ve got ‘Red’ in stock, but the ‘Caramel Brown’ they never ordered as many of those as the ‘Red’ when they first ordered the Iyashis, and those sold out. So, now we’re waiting for the shipment, which are back-ordered until later this week, I think Friday they should be in, or this weekend. Well, the ‘Blacks’ were coming in as well, but the ‘Blacks’ have already been sold, and they haven’t even arrived yet, and the whole shipment’s been sold, and the next shipment’s not coming in until the end of January, beginning of February of 2014, but of course, the sales will be over by then. So, what I’m saying is, order now for a ‘Black’ one, or even a – well, ‘Caramel Brown’ should be in this week, but I don’t know how many are left in that shipment that are coming in, but the ‘Red’ and the ‘Caramel Brown,’ you’re OK – but if you want a black Iyashi, jump on the wagon now, don’t wait until the end of January, they may all be spoken for already. We used to run in to this problem all the time with the Inada Sognos, they’d be back-ordered, and they’d be spoken for, weeks before they even got here, so a lesson for the wise, and a lesson from experience, get your chairs, order them now, don’t worry about back-ordered they are, just get them now so you can get in on the shipment. The Dreamer in ‘Brown’ is out of stock for two more weeks, and the ‘Red’ Cyber, OS-Cyber – and the Dreamer and the Cyber, by the way, are both Osaki chairs – the Cyber ‘Red’ is out until mid January, so it looks like another week, but the Cyber was low on stock all around.
[SCREEN TEXT: Article: OS-7075R vs. OS-3D Pro Cyber]
Alan: We sell a lot of the Cyber, as a matter of fact, I wrote a blog post recently, as a matter of fact, I wrote it this morning, it’s about – a lot of people like to look at that Osaki 7075R because it has aggressive massage, and it has foot rollers, and a headband that massages the head with airbags – well, that chair, we have seen have a lot of breakdown issues, a lot of failure, a high failure rate. So, when I saw the Cyber for the first time, it reminded me of the 7075, it kind of had the same body styling, but more contemporary, nicer lines, a better look. Well, this chair is a better chair, as far as reliability, and the durability of the chair. Plus, it’s got a great feature set, including 3D roller massage – and 3D, as I’ve mentioned before, means that the rollers can move forward and back, not just up and down and side to side, but they can go forward and back to give you the ability to adjust the intensity of the massage – and I’ll tell you, on that Pro Cyber and Pro Dreamer, those two chairs are kind of sister chairs, man, those rollers move forward and you get a pretty deep, intense massage. Anyway, you can check out that blog post, on my article library or blog, and read about why I recommend the Cyber over the 7075. OK, the Sogno and the other Inada chairs seem to be in stock, and the Johnson chairs are in stock. It seems like Cozzia, Panasonic, Human Touch are all in stock, so everything else seems to be in stock. Now, there’s specials that are happening right now, we have our showroom special, and again, you need to call me at 888-259-5380 to find out what those specials are.
[SCREEN TEXT: $800 Instant Savings on Infinity Iyashi]
Alan: Also, Infinite Therapeutics has extended their $800 instant discount off on the Iyashi, it’s usually just $600 off. Well, they extended it, or increased it, to $800 off for the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. Well, they notified us yesterday that they were extending that until Christmas Day. So, you get $800 off plus our sale, which is an additional amount, but you’ve got to call – again, you’ve got to call the showroom – I can’t advertise the amount of the discount in public, or on the website.
[SCREEN TEXT: 2-Years Parts & Labor PLUS 2-Year Parts for Osaki OS-3D Pro Dreamer]
Alan: Also, the Dreamer, the Osaki OS-3D Pro Dreamer, has a two-year, parts-and-labor warranty with it, and then two years of parts beyond that, so that’s the only chair of Osaki that has that extended warranty. So, that Dreamer is a good chair, good, firm massage, great feature set, the 3D massage, foot rollers, arm airbags, stereo, the whole kit and caboodle, and now they’re throwing in the extra year of parts, and the extra year of in-home labor.
[SCREEN TEXT: $2000 OFF iRobotics 6S]
Alan: Also, another special, the iRobotics 6S, which had a $2000 discount until the end of Cyber Monday, that’s been extended to January 15th, so the $5990 price on the iRobotics 6S – if you remember, that’s made by Luraco, and it’s for the most part, an American-made, assembled, and tested chair – that chair has a $2000 discount still in place until January 15th.
[SCREEN TEXT: Johnson J6800 in Showroom]
Alan: I may have mentioned this before, I think I did, but we have now the Johnson 6800, J6800, in our showroom. Johnson Wellness chairs are Taiwanese-made principally, primarily made in Taiwan, and are good quality chairs. Apparently, they’ve hired some engineers, or design people, that used to work for Inada and Fujiiryoki, and so the story is that the chairs have more of a Japanese feel to the roller system, and I would agree with that. They do tend to have more of a roll, maybe more akin to something that I’d feel with Inada or Panasonic, but very good chairs, we have them in our showroom, and of course, I’ll be doing a review on it, and doing videos on it shortly, so you’ll get to hear the latest scoop on that chair.
[SCREEN TEXT: To Date, $1650 Donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation]
Alan: Now, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, this is something very near and dear to my heart, I’ve mentioned it a couple of times, I just wanted to give you an update on it. To date, we are at $1650 donated, and that is from portions of – a portion of every chair that we sell to you, goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and for our wish child, who’s Samantha, and Samantha, I don’t know what her – what the goal is for her particularly, but our goal for the year is $7500, and it will grow each year. Right now, we’re at $1650, so we’re at 20% of our earning goal, or our fund-raising goal, and as soon as Samantha’s goal is met, then we will move on to another one, and help another child.
[SCREEN TEXT: [SCREEN TEXT: http://www.Massage-Chair-Relief.com/Make-A-Wish.html]
Alan: We love this program, it’s a great program, we’d like to thank those of you who have purchased chairs, and those of you who have donated. You don’t have to purchase a chair to donate. You can go to our website, onto our page, and then on to our Make-A-Wish page, and I’ll put the link up there. You can go there, and donate anything you’d like, $5, $10, $15, $20, $30, $40, $100, whatever, we just appreciate any donation you can to help make Samantha’s wish come true. Now, again, when you buy a chair from me, a portion will be donated, as well, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, so we’d like to thank you for participating. It’s a been a wonderful, wonderful, and very rewarding experience just knowing that we’re putting this money towards a child’s wish.
[SCREEN TEXT: Christmas Shipping Deadlines!!]
Alan: OK, this is out of warning more than anything, but the shipping deadlines for Christmas are coming due. As a matter of fact, today December 4th, Inada said that this is their deadline for guaranteed white-glove delivery anywhere around the country. For Infinite Therapeutics, they said December 10th for white-glove, and December 12th for regular curbside delivery, and I would think it’s safe to say that by the tail end of next week, you better have your chair ordered if you want it by Christmas. Now, of course, there are certain companies – now, for example, Human Touch, Panasonic, Inada, Omega, those ones are out of Southern California, and Infinite Therapeutics is out of Seattle, so they’re West coast, so if you live on the West – like, you know, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, et cetera, et cetera, the chairs should get to you with plenty of time to spare if you order it right now. Well, not plenty of time, but with time to spare. So, what we’re saying is, if you live on the other side of the country, maybe well, for Osaki, for example, and iRobotics, they ship out of Dallas, so if you live closer to Texas, you’ve got a little, you can still buy some time, but if you’re ordering an Inada chair, or a Human Touch chair, or a Panasonic – well, not Panasonic because they have multiple centers for shipping, but – or an Infinite Therapeutics chair, and you live Maryland or New York, you better order soon to get your chair there in time, and don’t wait until the last minute, order now. This is just a warning, because I get panicked people calling me every year at this time, saying ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve got to get this chair by Christmas.’ Now, I know that you can pay for expedited shipping, but it will be like $1000 more, so get it now, get it done, and just heed my warning, and you’ll thank me in the long run. Also, if you do happen to order it too late, and it doesn’t get to you by Christmas, let me know, we can overnight you a little something that you can give to your loved one, that shows that you actually do have a gift coming, even if it’s not coming right on Christmas Day, which is on a Wednesday this year, so let us know and we can help you out.
[SCREEN TEXT: uDivine Test Drive]
Alan: One last thing, my wife and I were shopping, doing some Christmas shopping a couple weeks ago at a mall, and we came by a Brookstone, and we saw the uDivine massage chair there. Now, the uDivine is a chair that a few people have mentioned to me, as a chair that they’ve tried out or looked at in their massage chair shopping experience, and they’ve asked me about it, and I’ve not really known anything about it. I sat on a uAstro a couple years ago when I was in Vegas at a show, you know, a trade show, but this was the first time I sat on a uDivine, so I sat on the uDivine there, the guy sat me me down. First of all, I want to say the chair was quite small, quite compact, it’s not a huge, space-consuming chair. I sat in it for 5 or 10 minutes, and I wrote my thoughts about it down on my phone, and then I transcribed it later to a blog post, or in my article library, so go ahead and take a look at that, go to our article library blog, and you can get my impressions of it. Now, I don’t thrash and trash other people’s chairs. I don’t carry everybody’s chairs, and there’s reasons why I don’t carry certain chairs, but I don’t badmouth the chairs, except for highlighting certain things about the chairs that may be better on another chair, or not as good, and I, of course, I do that with every chair whether I carry it or not, so I feel like it’s a pretty objective, cursory review. I was only on the chair for 5, 10 minutes, I mean, how much can you really, truly know about the inner workings of a chair in that short a period of time, but it was long enough to get impressions, you know, like the ottoman hides under the seat, which is a great idea. They’ve got a nifty arm airbag massage, they’ve got good neck massage, low back’s not so good, but then I wrote, you know, a couple of other impressions, and anyway, take a look at that if you’re interested to see.
Anyway, that should just about do it for this week, I hope you’re enjoying these videos. If you do like the video, feel free to subscribe to it, for heaven’s sake, and you can updated immediately whenever we post a new video to YouTube, and we post them quite regularly, in case you weren’t aware of that. Also, you know, we love it when people share our videos, or our blog posts, or anything about our website, or about the industry, you know, tweet it, ‘+1,’ it, ‘Like’ it, whatever, we just appreciate you spreading the word about massage chairs, and helping this industry grow. If you have any questions, again, give me a call, chat with me, email me, I’m always available. In the meantime, enjoy your Christmas shopping, don’t delay for a massage chair, and you’re going to love having a chair, Christmas morning, in your home.
