Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – January 16, 2015”
Alan: Well, hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is January 16th, 2015, and this is our biweekly massage chair industry update. There’s not a lot to go over today. Of course, the holidays are done, the sales are all done, all the new models came out, and now we’re just kind of gearing up for the new year.

Alan: I’ll tell you, as far as stock goes, I do know that the Titan 8400 and the Osaki OS-4000T have been very popular sellers, and they are out of stock, and they’re supposed to have a new shipment in either this, or I believe next week, or the week after. As far as I know, other chairs, let’s see, I think all the other chairs are in stock for Osaki and Titan, and for Infinite Therapeutics, and for Human Touch, and for Inada, Panasonic, I know the MA73s came in. Oh, that reminds me, I’ve got my MA73. We just got that in the day before Christmas, or just – no, sorry, that was just about a week ago – and we’ve sat in it, it’s a very nice chair, I really like it.

Alan: The arm airbags and the foot airbags, or the foot massage mechanisms, are very different. Remember I, on my blog, if you’ve been reading my blog, and following my blog, and following any of my massage chair industry updates, I’ve talked about how the advertisement for the Panasonic was that it had – it was kind of a little misleading, or a little nebulous – it kind of led me to believe that maybe they had something like rollers in the arms, and in the hands, and in the feet. Well, they don’t, but the arm airbags are different, there’s like different cells, and it inflates to different parts of the hand, and the forearm. It actually is a better arm massage, I rather like it. The foot massage, they don’t have foot rollers, but they have alternating, like pistons or something, coming up in your feet, so pushing up on the bottom of your feet while the airbags push down on your feet. So, the foot massage is more intense, and better, than what it was on the MA70 as well. So, we’ve got the MA73, I will do some reviews on it, a review on it, I’ll be doing some videos on it, of course.

Alan: Speaking of videos, I just, we’ve been, we just posted, over the last few weeks, we’ve posted an intro, and a first time use video for the Titan TP 8400, and we just posted this week, the intro video for the Titan TP-Pro Alpine, which is a chair I really, really like. My family really digs it too, because of the extended roller track, the good neck massage, and the more sophisticated roller system that it has, very, very nice chair, I like that chair.

Alan: Anyway, and we’ve recorded more videos, we’ll be putting out more videos on that chair, as well as the MA73, as well as the AcuTouch 8.0 Bali from Human Touch, which is also a nice chair, a light chair, a thin chair, a different chair from what we’re accustomed to seeing from Human Touch.
[SCREEN TEXT: $300 Rebate for the Inada Flex 3S – Until 01/31/15]
Alan: OK, so, oh, and Inada has a rebate, a rebate for the buyer for their Flex 3S massage chair. Now, as you remember, if you remember, when they first came out with the chair back in June and July, the chair was $6499, the price went up December 1st to $6799, and now they’re offering, until the end of January, a rebate of $300 on the $6799 for you, the consumer, so that brings the price back down to $6799 when you get your rebate. So, there is that going on from Inada. Also, we will be upgrading our shopping cart, as a matter of fact, it’s supposed to be done this week. The whole website, and the shopping cart, are being upgraded, and I don’t know what that means. I just know it’s being done, and it’s going to be good for our website, and good for usability, but it’ll be interesting to see how the shopping cart starts to work after this next week with the new functionality. Anyway, if you find any glitches, or any concerns, about the website, or about the shopping cart, please give us feedback, and let me know, I’d like to know if you see any kind of glitch or anything like that in the new upgrades.
[SCREEN TEXT: Osaki OS-4000T vs. Osaki OS-4000]
Alan: Let’s see, the, oh, you know, we sell the Osaki OS-4000T, and there’s some confusion about that because people will call me and say ‘You know, Costco sells the Osaki OS-4000,’ and you know, the prices are different from what we sell them for. Well, the Costco Osaki 4000 is the original 4000, we carry the Osaki 4000T, and the T represents foot rollers that that chair has. So, that is the difference between the Costco OS-4000, and the OS-4000T that you see on our website, but I just thought maybe you’d like to know what the difference is between those two.
[SCREEN TEXT: A Portion of Every Massage Chair Sale Goes to The Make-A-Wish Foundation!]
Alan: Again, I just wanted to reiterate the thank you for helping us reach our goal, actually, we way surpassed our goal on the Make-A-Wish Foundation last year. Our goal was $7500, we did I think over $11,000. We’ve set a new goal of, I think $15,000, or $13,000, or $15,000, I can’t even remember, for this next year. On the Make-A-Wish site, where we have our goal, you know, our goal thing, you can not, we can’t just erase last year’s goal and put in a new goal, so we add on to the goal of last year. So, our goal was $7500, and now we’re adding whatever it is, $15,000, or $13.000, to that, and that will be, so you’ll see that the goal will now be 30-something-thousand dollars, but we’ve already, you know, managed to do, you know, 11-something. I can’t, I wish I had the numbers, I should’ve had the numbers ready for you. Anyway, when you purchase a massage chair from us, a portion of every sale goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and this is a worthy cause. I love it, I have a lot of kids, I’ve got grandkids now, and I personally think that anything we can do for kids, especially kids with life-threatening or terminal diseases, is valuable, and I think it’s a good thing, and I really am an advocate for kids. Well, I think that’s about it, I told you there wasn’t much to do this week. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at 888-259-5380.
