A new study on using pregabalin for chronic and acute sciatica has had some disappointing results. Previously indicated as a good treatment for neuropathic pain, the study found no decrease in symptoms and multiple side effects in using it for sciatica. The study was done on more than 200 patients, most of whom completed the study. In comparison to the placebo group, the pregabalin group saw no improvement in symptoms, leaving the drug out of the running for sciatica treatment.
