Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today I’m going to introduce you to the new Luraco iRobotics 7 massage chair, which is the first US-made massage chair. It has some components imported from Taiwan, but the majority of the chair, including the electronics, and the programming, and the assembly, and the quality-control testing is all done here at Luraco’s head office in Arlington, Texas. It’s a wonderful chair, it’s considered a higher-echelon chair, more expensive, very good quality. It comes with a three-year, parts-and-labor warranty, should give you 15+ years of use, has a less than 1% failure rate, very nice chair, and we really like it. It’s been very popular since we introduced it to our showrooms, and we’re in our California showroom, this is our first video recording in our new California showroom, but we also have this chair in our Utah showroom, and it’s a very popular chair. But anyway, let me just give you a brief introduction, looking at it. It’s a more traditional styling of chair. It’s got arm airbags, and you notice the arm airbags in the side here. The arm airbags are kind of built in to the armrests, and there’s knobules, and you can kind of see with the light reflection, the pattern of the knobules. So, the airbags will push those knobules, push the knobules up in to your arms, and give you a compression massage of the arms, and wrists, and hands. You’ll also notice there’s hip airbags, shoulder airbags, and the airbags in the shoulders are the type that inflate to the outside of the shoulder, and a little bit to the front of the shoulder, to pin you back. There’s this little headpiece, which has airbags at the bottom of each side of this horseshoe, that push these rubber knobules on the bottom of this, in to your trap muscles.

Alan: It’s not terribly strong, it’s not a huge feature of this chair, but it is one that they have introduced. You’ll also notice that it has the calf-and-foot massage, but what’s unique about this, it does have foot rollers, the mechanical foot rollers, and it also has a little pad that you can use if the foot roller is too intense, or if it’s not intense enough, you can take this out. But it does have that in the feet, and you’ll notice that there’s two segments on the calves, so when you sit in the chair, it has a greater coverage of the calf and leg muscles. Well, this serves a great purpose for the stretch program, where there’s more airbag to grab your feet, to pull the legs down when the stretch is occurring, but also, this allows you to accommodate to a taller body. Now, the iRobotics 7 can cater to people’s height from 4′ 7″ up to 6′ 7″, and it does that largely through the extension of the ottoman. So, this ottoman really extends out long. We had a customer yesterday, who was 6′ 6″ in our Utah showroom, and he fit beautifully in the chair. And when I looked at the chair, I saw the ottoman fully extended, and I couldn’t believe how long it was, but it can accommodate the longer legs of a taller body.

Alan: This chair also has a remote control that is – the interface is a lot like a smartphone – this is the first massage chair to use this type of format, and just looking at it, you can see it looks like a phone. Well, there’s a power button on here, and then you have your interface, and it’s all touchscreen, just like a cell phone. So, you have your icons here, that look like apps, but they’re representing automated programs of the chair, automatic programs. You can adjust the intensity, you can adjust the – and when I say intensity, it means you can adjust the intensity of the airbags, and the rollers, because the chair does have 3D rollers, so you can move the rollers out and back, to make it more or less intense of a massage for the user, you can also – it has some wonderful information on here about the physiology of the body, and the anatomy of the body, so you understand a little bit more about what the chair is doing to your body. It has a little music system, very rudimentary, nothing fancy, there’s an SD card that plugs in to the bottom of the remote, and there’s a speaker at the back of the chair. Nothing to write home about, but it is a music feature, and if you like that, you can download your own music and play it while you’re sitting in the chair. It has a heat adjustment, it has airbag-compression adjustment, and the features, in and of themselves, are pretty basic across the board, as what you might see on other chairs, but the interface is what makes it unique, and having that cell phone, or smartphone-type of interface. One other thing that’s kind of cool about this chair, is it has a blood-pressure cuff option. Now, you have to pay for that, but it has a blood-pressure cuff that plugs in to the chair. Luraco looks at this chair as a medical device, and so they’ve included a blood-pressure cuff as an option.

Alan: It’s an Omron blood-pressure cuff, so it’s a name-brand blood-pressure cuff, and you can use that if you want to buy it, and check your pulse and blood pressure while you’re sitting on the chair. The chair comes in black, it comes in brown, a dark brown, and a cream color. As I mentioned, a three-year, parts-and-labor warranty, in home, 15+ years life expectancy, and a less than 1% failure rate, that’s what we expect to see on an upper-echelon chair, and that’s where they come in at, a very nice chair. There’s airbags in the seat as well. They got a little pattern here to kind of make it look fancy, I guess, I don’t know, but it’s a very, very nice chair, and this chair has proven to be very popular. It was introduced in 2015, and has been a consistently top-seller for us, but that is the Luraco iRobotics 7. I hope you found this video helpful, interesting in some way.
