Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today we’re going to talk about the shoulder airbags of the new Infinity Iyashi massage chair from Infinite Therapeutics. Now, this is a technology or concept that was innovated by Inada with a chair that has since been discontinued, called the Doctor’s Choice 3A chair. It has airbags that inflate forward, and push the shoulders back, so they inflate on to the shoulders, pinning the shoulders back. I’ll move this out of the way so you can see it clearly. It’ll inflate on the shoulders, and pin the shoulders back, so that when you’re getting a massage, it does a couple of things. It increases the intensity of the rollers going up, because if you can’t move, if your shoulders are pinning you in, those rollers will move up, and it’ll make it more intense, but it also brings the shoulders back to work in kind of a postural corrective idea.

Alan: I’m going to demonstrate it to you by sitting in the chair, and turning on the airbags up there, and this will just take a moment. Get yourself situated, make sure that when you – and this applies to the feet and calves as much as it does the shoulders – but make sure when you lean back, you’re not pinning the shoulders or folding the shoulder bags back, you kind of want to have them flush and ready to work. So, we’ll bring this down to the ‘Airbags,’ let me put on my glasses so I can see what I’m doing for heaven’s sake, OK ‘Airbags,’ and we’ll bring it to the ‘Shoulders.’ Now, the first thing that’s going to happen is that it’s going to inflate the arms. I’ve already done a video on the arm airbag massage, and the thing I – remember the thing I liked about that, and maybe you could videotape this – this, it inflates sequentially, arms, then it inflates the wrists, then it inflates the hand and fingers. So, it’s a sequential compression, not just a single airbag bladder pushing down on my arm, it kind of enhances – it’s working on the right arm, but in a moment it’ll start on the left arm again – but it inflates one section, second section, third section.

Alan: Now you can see the airbags inflating on my shoulders, do you see how they’re inflating, they’re pinning my shoulders back, so when the rollers are going up and down, it will pin me in, and increase the intensity of the massage. Another thing that these airbags do in another program, I can’t remember which program it is, it might be the ‘Recovery’ program, but not only do they inflate on the front of my shoulders, but they will – like the hip airbags, if you watch the buttock and thigh airbag massage, where it moves the pelvis from side to side over top of the rollers – these airbags will inflate one side, and then the other. You won’t see it here because it’s only doing concurrent inflation, but there comes a point in one of the programs, where the airbag will inflate on one side, and push my back over the rollers, and then the other side, so it kind of shifts, or shears, my upper body over the rollers, fantastic feature. Most of the other chairs that have shoulder airbags only compress back, this one compresses one, and then the other, so it moves the body up and over the rollers, from side to side, great feature.

Alan: This is the shoulder airbag, now you can see it compressing again on both sides of my shoulders. Now, these are a few of the 38 airbags that this chair has, it has quite a few airbags, but the shoulder airbags are some of the most effective, I love it for postural correction.
