How to Protect Yourself from Insomnia

 

In addition to serving the very important function of allowing us rest and recover from the dayโ€™s events, sleep also gives our body a chance to flush stress hormones like cortisol out of our bloodstream.

As discussed in this video, when we get little sleep or no sleep, we lose our ability to moderate our stress levels. When that happens, person can expect to feel physically exhausted and have serious trouble comprehending and remembering new information.

As such itโ€™s a good idea to do things like avoiding the consumption of caffeine beverages in your bed, discontinuing use of smartphones or tablets and hour before you plan to go to sleep and getting regular massages in order to prevent against the deleterious effects of insomnia.
