OS-4000TAlan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we’re going to talk about the hip, seat, and low-back airbags of the Osaki OS-4000T. The reason we’re going to talk about all three of them is because when you use them in the manual settings, and most of the auto programs, they work in concert. So, you’ll have hip airbags that’ll inflate to the outside of your thighs, then you’ll have airbags that’ll inflate to the lower lumbar area, then you’ll have airbags that’ll inflate under your seat, and we’re going to demonstrate this now. So, we’re going to turn the airbags on, and the first thing you’re going to notice is the – just a minute, and let’s see if we can, there we go – notice the airbags are inflating. Now, these hip airbags, if you can see, they have two cells in them, one in the front, and then one in the back, so you see this one deflating, and this one inflating, and it’s happening on both sides. Now it’s deflating and inflating again. Now, imagine you’re sitting in here, and these are compressing against your thighs. There’s a muscle that runs along the side of your thigh called the iliotibial band.

Alan: That iliotibial band runs from your hips down to your knees, and in most people that’ve had back problems, knee problems, or hip problems, those muscles are going to be tender. So, when you have these airbags compressing, and you’ll notice how they’re progressively encroaching on the hips, that it’s getting wider and wider, you see how wide the hip airbags are. You won’t fully see it until it deflates again, and you’ll see how much it retracts. See how it’s retracting now? Now, imagine that you’re sitting in here, and you’re having these airbags digging in to your iliotibial bands. That’s a good sign. Now it’s switching over to the low back, see how the left low-back airbag is inflating, and now the right airbag is inflating. You can see it’s a big, old bubble there, it’s inflating there, and now they’re inflating on the left again, and while that’s happening, you see how the airbag in the seat’s inflating too? So, you’ve got left airbag, lumbar, low back, left airbag, seat, and now the right airbag is inflating, and the right seat is inflating, and now the airbags in the hips are inflating in concert again as well.

Alan: Now, this chair can also, if I’m not mistaken, you can have – when you noticed, when I was describing the low back, and the seat – and we’ll see it again here, see how the seat’s inflating right here on the left, and the airbag is on the right? And what can happen also is the left airbag on the low lumbar can inflate, and the right-seat airbag inflates. So, you’re getting a bit of a – it’ll kind of give you a bit of a rotation, or a twisting motion in the low back – and then it does the same on the other side. So, you can have the left-seat airbag, and the right-lumbar airbag, inflate to give you this rotating motion to get your pelvis to be turning. These are motions that are not – we don’t normally do, when we’re just erect, and working, and doing our – you know, our daily routine. We don’t usually get a lot of rotation in the hips and the low back. Well, this chair facilitates that, and speaking as a chiropractor, rotation in the low back’s really important, because that can get very, very restrictive with tight muscles, with degenerative arthritis, with weight gain, it gets harder and harder to get that area of the spine to move, and if you have a job where you’re quite sedentary, where you’re sitting all the time, these areas can just lock up.

Alan: So, having a chair that can inflate the low back, and the hips, and induce rotation, or motion, one side to the other, any kind of rotation in the low back, is great. And then of course, having the hip airbags inflate on the sides of your thighs, on the iliotibial bands, priceless, especially if you have tender iliotibial bands, and you won’t know if you’ve got tender iliotibial bands, or what they call IT-bands, until you sit in a chair like this, and you have those airbags inflate, and you’ll go ‘Holy mackerel, that’s kind of tender.’ Well, that’s because those muscles have been compromised through some kind of abuse to the lower quadrant, and you will find that the airbags will be great. So, that is the airbags of seat, hips, and lumbar area, which work in concert on the Osaki OS-4000T. I hope you found the video helpful. Please thumbs up ‘Like’ us if you did.
