Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we’re going to demonstrate the ottoman, and foot-and-calf massager of the HT-9500 massage chair. Human Touch has done a masterful job of creating a foot-and-calf massage, on all of their chairs, that is not airbag massage, but is paddle massage. What Human Touch has done is they’ve created these malleable rubber – soft rubber paddles that work on your feet and calves, in a way that’s – the airbags can’t compete, it’s really a beautiful, beautiful technology, and it feels fantastic on your feet. Well, the HT-9500 is no exception to that. What we’ve got, and first of all, what I’ll show you is we have to deploy the ottoman. As you can see here on the chair, the ottoman is underneath the chair seat. So, the first thing that we have to do is by pushing the ‘Legs Up’ button on the remote control, is bringing the ottoman out, and you have to do this before you use any program, if you want to use the ottoman with that program. So, up comes the ottoman, and I’ll wait for it to fully deploy. Once it’s deployed, I will turn on a program that will show us how the legs work. On this chair, you can turn on the ottoman all by itself, so you don’t have to have anything else working, if you’re just watching TV, you don’t want to massaged on your back, you can turn on the ottoman all by itself.

Alan: You’ll see here, there’s paddles here, and I’m pushing against it, it’s not airbags, but there’s paddles on either side of the ottoman, and it’s also on the feet and on the calves. I’ll go in this in a second, and show you how this works on an actual foot. Now, it doesn’t have foot rollers on the bottom, but it does have a plate with some hard rubber nodules that poke up into the soles of the feet, on both of the feet. It’s not a dynamic mechanical massage foot roller, it is a, more or less, just a hard rubber plate that the paddles push – your foot gets pushed down on to that plate by the paddles in the foot – but it’s a magnificent massage. You’ll notice how the motion of the massage on the feet is kind of in a wave-like manner, it’s not just like inflate, deflate, inflate, deflate, like airbags do, these paddles actually move in a wave-like manner to enhance the circulation of the legs. Now you see it again, you see how it’s moving, the feet and the calves are both moving in and out, in and out, like a wave-like component. By the way, the calf massage is different from the – it’s separate and distinct from the foot massage – it’s not one long rubber paddle that’s doing the whole thing simultaneously, they are two separate entities, one in the calves and one in the feet that massage you, OK, fantastic massage. So, while we’re at it, I’m going to shut that off, and I’m going to hop in the chair, and I’m going to show you how it looks with my feet in it.

Alan: So, now we’ll get our feet inside it, push the foot down, and on it goes again. Now you can see my feet in there. I’ll lift up my legs, you know, try not to offend anybody, but there’s my legs, and you can see how the wave-like motion of the paddles are working on my feet and the calves, it is a fantastic massage. I would have to say, of all the chairs that I carry, this chair has the best foot-and-calf massage of any of the chairs, any of them. Now, also I want you to come on up here and take a look at the remote control. You’ll see here, it’s ‘Circulation’ is the title of – is the title or the term they’ve given to describe the foot massage – and you’ll see that the red light is on this upper setting. Now, this does not have low, medium, and high settings per say, but when you push the button, you’ll see it goes to the one, then the two, and then the three, all that is, is a different setting for the foot-and-calf massage, so you get a different feel. One might be a little less intense than another, if one is too intense, or one might be more intense than another, if you want a more intense massage, you’ll kind of have to go through it yourself, and see how feels, and find the one that you like. When you put on an automatic program, like one of the automated programs, one of the eight auto-programs that this chair has, it will automatically, the ottoman will immediately defer to the automated settings for the ottoman.

Alan: You can change it while the regular program is going, one of your automatic programs is going, you can still change the setting on the ottoman to get a different feel, to one of these different programs on the ottoman, distinct from the auto settings. Of course, I’ve probably messed you up there with all that verbose description of something that’s so simple. Anyway, that is the foot-and-calf massage, or the ottoman, of the HT-9500, fantastic foot-and-calf massage, amongst foot-and-calf massages, it’s the best. It doesn’t have a foot roller, I can see one day they may want to add something like that, but despite that, the paddles on the feet and calves are fantastic, OK?
