Alan: Now, there is a type of therapy, and the name of the therapy escapes me now, but you can put your feet in a machine and the machine sways from side to side, moving the legs, which can lead to proprioceptive changes in the low back and pain relief in the low back. Well, Infinite Therapeutics, with this chair, has taken that therapy and integrated it in to the calf massage, and called it ‘Swing.’ So, I’m going to turn this on and I want you to see what this does. You’ll notice – now the rollers are going, but what the rollers are doing is they’re protruding out, and then retracting, protruding and retracting from side to side – and it creates this swinging motion of the calves from side to side. Now, when you’re in a full recline, a full inversion position, with full zero gravity, this swing from side to side feels fantastic. It’s very soothing, and it’s rhythmic.

Alan: It kind of has a soothing effect that can almost put you to sleep, it’s that enjoyable. The idea here, I believe, is to introduce this rhythmic motion of the legs, which has some kind of proprioceptive and rehabilitative effect on the hips and on the low back. It’s a pretty cool feature, and I’ve never seen it in any other chair, and I really, really like this. I think you can only do this because of the rollers that are in there, and it makes it a very effective massage. That is the ‘Swing’ motion of the ottoman, the calf-massaging ottoman, of the IT-9800 from Infinite Therapeutics.
