First Time in the Infinity Luminary Chair? Watch This Step-by-Step Guide First!

warranty

Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and today I’m going to show you how to operate the Infinity Luminary Syner-D massage chair for the first time. The “Center D” refers to the split track technology used in this chair. It was one of the first chairs to feature split track technology from the Rotai factory—which was the first to implement this design.

As you get into the chair, it’s always good to brace yourself with your hand on the armrest, especially if you have severe back pain or limited mobility. Hold on to the chair. I recommend not stepping on the ottoman, as it could break the foot massage section. Instead, straddle the ottoman, slide your butt into the chair, and get comfortable.

Now you’re ready to go.

There’s a remote control tablet and some quick keys. The quick keys are shortcut buttons for features available on the tablet. But today, we’re not going to talk about those because I don’t want to overwhelm you.

The first time you use the chair, simply tap the remote control tablet. You’ll see a warning message reminding you to make sure no animals or small children are under the chair or ottoman—safety first. After reading that the first time, it’ll always pop up. Just click the red confirm button, and you’re ready to go.

I like to start with an auto program, so I tap “Auto.” I’m not going to select the “Demo” program today (which we usually do), because it includes a voiceover that explains what the chair is doing. That’s great at home, but for this demo, I’ll choose the top-left program, which is the Morning Program. That way, there’s no voice competing with mine.

Once selected, the chair begins a body scan.

The Luminary chair includes a lot of padding and offers a strong massage. Personally, I like to remove the head padding so I can feel the rollers on my neck. The pad is mainly to prop up your head, so if you want a deeper neck massage, just flip that pad back over the top of the chair.

The ottoman will move out and then back in to measure your leg length. There’s a sensor inside the ottoman. When it starts to come back, just push your feet out when you feel it reach the right length. That helps the chair calibrate itself to your height.

Important note: I’m doing something wrong here—you want to keep your head back during the scan. I can feel the rollers moving now. They’ll scan up and down your back, checking the base of your skull, shoulder position, muscle tightness, and the shape of your spine. The chair will then adjust the Morning Program specifically to fit your body.

At this point, I can feel the rollers behind my neck. The foot rollers have also started. The scan is complete, and the Morning Program has begun.

Now, just let the chair do its thing. You don’t need to adjust anything yet. Once you’re more familiar with the chair, you can customize the roller speed, intensity, and depth for a lighter or deeper massage. You can also control the airbag compression strength, especially if you want a firmer squeeze on your arms, calves, or feet.

Let the program run its course. The default timer is 10 minutes, but you can adjust it from 5 to 30 minutes. Most chairs max out at around 30 minutes per session.

You can also connect your phone via Bluetooth for music or audio, but we’re not going to cover that today.

When you’re finished, just press the Stop button. The chair will then reset to neutral, meaning the backrest and ottoman will return to their upright positions. Important: Don’t get out of the chair while the ottoman is still raised. If you stand on it or put too much pressure on it, it can snap. In fact, we had a chair in the back where kids stood on the ottoman and snapped it right off. That chair was discontinued, and we couldn’t even get a replacement ottoman.

So, once the chair resets and the rollers return to their parked positions—upper rollers here and lower rollers under your butt—you’re ready for your next session.

Again, when getting out of the chair, don’t stand on the ottoman. Straddle it and step out carefully. That’s our recommended method for using the chair—very simple.

I’ve done a lot of talking here, but really, all you need to do is:

  1. Activate the remote.

  2. Acknowledge the safety warning.

  3. Select your auto program.

  4. Let the chair do its thing.

If you want to end the session early, press Stop—and that’s it.
