Having the hard talk or difficult conversation is uncomfortable for everyone, especially when caught off guard. Conversation skills aren’t make overnight, which is why you should practice speaking your truth whenever possible. When you’re about to have that difficult conversation, prepare your key message first, and let the person you’re speaking to know that you’re doing if because you care. Remember not to take anything the other person says personally, and to actively listen to what the other person has to say.
