The Journal if the American Medical Association has released an article based on three studies that has shown that radiofrequency denervation is ineffective at treating lower back pain that is chronic in nature. Most patients in these studies, from procedures performed at several clinics, perceived little to no long term pain relief or a return to functioning after the procedure. The procedures studied were the sacroiliac, facet or a combination if both joints. This study reveals a need fir further treatment methods.
