Quick Hits – Port Strike in LA; TP-Pro 8400 Coming; No 3D On Titan Chairs

rss-icon-1-970189-mI’ve learned a few things this week that may be of interest to you:

1. A few years back, the port workers in LA went on strike right before Christmas and it wreaked havoc on massage chair stock and shipments. It was resolved but not before chairs had been delayed, even late for Christmas.

This year, it appears that 70 dock clerks have gone on strike and it is having the same effect on business. Chair shipments are delayed, so our hands are tied until a settlement is reached. It does not seem to be a large a work stoppage as before, but it shuts things down, nonetheless. Here is an article describing the situation:

All the more important to get your orders in now for the holidays, so that you have enough time to get the chair and color you want.

201420Br2. As I have mentioned in my Massage Chair Industry Update, we are now carrying the Titan TP-Pro 8300 and TP-Pro 8400 models. I have an 8400 on the way to the showroom as we speak. I will be setting it up promptly and giving a preliminary review about it shortly thereafter.

I am quite excited to see what this chair is like, as it seems to be a great bang-for-the-buck based on the literature. I have no idea what it is really like, but to find a chair for under $3,ooo that includes mechanical foot rollers, an extended roller L-track of 50″+, a space saving recline feature, and zero gravity really intrigues me. I’ll keep you posted as I experience this new model. We will be getting the dark brown model, which you can see in the associated image to your left.

3. I erroneously reported in previous communications that the new Titan chairs have 3D roller technology. According to Titan/Osaki (same company), the roller speed can be adjusted in manual mode, but the rollers themselves are not 3D – which means that they do not move forward and back to adjust the intensity up or down, respectively.

It would be interesting to see if the powers that be in Japan and China can come up with an extended roller track that also has the 3D roller technology.

4. Also, a reminder that next week ,beginning on November 26th, we will be able to offer 18 month 0% financing on any of our massage chairs through Synchrony Bank. Because the processing rates they charge us are so high, we don’t normally offer this option. But, on certain times of the year, like next week, they drop the processing fees we have to pay so we offer that option on top of our normal 6 or 12 month financing.

This only will last until December 9th, so if you are interested jump on it next week.

Well, that’s about it for this week. Feel free to call anytime at 888-259-5380 and I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions or assist you with your order.
