Florence Vanek, M.S.N., R.N., implemented a program called Paws for Pennsy in an attempt to help relieve the stress that hospital staff are exposed to on a daily basis. The program was an instant hit! Surveys show that the program has helped with stress and anxiety and the program now runs quarterly. Terry Foster, R.N., suggests laughter as medicine to help cope with stress. This too, is a valuable outlet to cope with stress.
