My Visit to Cozzia to See The Ogawa Chairs!

ogawa-logo-dealerI traveled to Southern California last week to check out the new Ogawa massage chairs from Cozzia. Cozzia’s head office is in City of Industry and they have their offices and warehouse there. The warehouse is huge!

I met with Mark Holmes, who I interviewed a couple of years ago about the Cozzia chairs. You can watch Part 1 of that 3-part interview here if you are interested…

He introduced me to the Ogawa Active and Refresh models. Nice chairs. They are currently the only 2 models that Ogawa has. Ogawa is a splinter brand from the Cozzia family that was developed principally for online retailers. Cozzia is primarily for brick and mortar stores so their popular models were not readily available for online retailers like me. Even though I have a showroom, I was still not able to carry the chairs because of exclusivity rights for bigger furniture stores in my area.

These chairs are made in the same factory as the Cozzia chairs and have the same infrastructural support. The warranties and customer support system is all the same.

I recorded my visit and you can watch the video below. But, before that I’ll mention a couple of things that stood out to me during my brief visit:

1. The Ogawa Active has an extended roller track, but that track can work when the chair is in a full recline, unlike other L-track chairs. The rollers are only about 43″ long, as opposed to closer to 50″ in other L-track chairs, but to have the rollers work in the buttocks region in a full recline is pretty cool.

I liked the overall massage of that chair. It felt comfortable to sit in. The rollers were not quite as intense as I have experienced in other L-track chairs. It is a very nice looking chair, too.

2. The Ogawa Refresh is a lower priced model, but a very handsome model. I loved the upholstery material that they are using for this model. It wasn’t a traditional synthetic leather material…it had a more “nylony” feel to it. But, it is a very nice look and feel. It comes in a bronze color, which they had in their showroom, which I thought was a really nice look.

We will get the Ogawa Active in our showroom soon and then I will be able to do a thorough review and study of it. Keep an eye on this blog to see the review when it is done.

The Active will retail for about $4999, after a $500 instant savings. That is right in line with most of the nicer L-track chairs, like the Infinity Iyashi and the Titan Alpine.
