Massage Chair Industry Update – August 7, 2014

Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – August 7, 2014”

Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for Thursday, August 7th, 2014. Boy, I usually get this done on a Wednesday, or a Tuesday, but my webcam keeps breaking down, and it’s extremely frustrating. So, I’m using my son’s laptop today, and I’m hoping that this’ll record just fine.

[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]

updateAlan: Let’s get right in to business. Stock status is good, for pretty much every – I haven’t heard of any depleted stock – from any of the massage chair companies.

[SCREEN TEXT: Upgraded Inada Dreamwave – August 1, 2014]

Alan: I will say that on August 1st, Inada announced their upgraded Inada Sogno Dreamwave chair, and it’s now being called just Inada Dreamwave. They’ve taken that chair, and added a bunch of features, and if you want to know what those feature changes are, you can go on to our blog and check out the new features, or you can go to the product page on our website, and you can see the new features there as well. The Dreamwave is a $500 more chair, it has the same colors as before, ‘Black,’ ‘Dark Brown,’ ‘Red,’ and ‘Crème,’ but they still have the Inada Sogno Dreamwave models available in ‘Black’ and ‘Dark Brown.’ The ‘Red’ and the ‘Crème’ are out of stock, but they’re not going to be replacing that stock because they’re discontinuing that model. If you want to know what the differences are between the Dreamwave and the Sogno Dreamwave, then go to our website, and you can check it out there, but that’s big news coming out of Inada’s camp.

[SCREEN TEXT: “The Ultimate Massage Chair Buyer’s Guide”]

Alan: We have a – I told you about the new book, our new book – a book I wrote called ‘The Ultimate Massage Chair Buyer’s Guide,’ and actually, I’ve got it right here on the bookshelf. It’s ‘How to Select the Perfect Massage Chair for Your Home or Business,’ that’s the subtitle on it.

[SCREEN TEXT: Buy on Amazon.com – Kindle or Paperback]

Alan: You can go to Amazon, and there’s a Kindle and a paperback version now available. I think the last time I spoke it was just the paperback version, and now we’ve got the Kindle download, and we’d appreciate it if you’d go and download the book and use it for your research. It’s a great read, and a great resource for anybody that’s looking to get a massage chair, and want to have some tips on what to look for, and what to avoid, and what issues are out there, and what kinds of things you want to have in a chair. For what it’s worth, take a look at it, I think it’s $8.99 for the paperback version, and a $1.99 – right now, the price will go up, I think, on the 20th of August – but it’s $1.99 for the Kindle download as well. You can download in to your Kindle, you can download in to Amazon, and use a Kindle reader app on your cell phone, or tablet, or even your computer, I suspect, and read the book from there.

[SCREEN TEXT: Revamping Our Social Media Platforms]

Alan: We had someone, we’ve hired someone to come in to our social media platforms, like our YouTube, our Facebook, our Twitter, and our Google Plus, and they’re revamping it, giving kind of an across-the-board, similar look for all of our social media properties. So, it’s a little bit more recognizable, and there’s a great picture there of a lady in a massage chair with a beautiful background, a stone fireplace or something background, but it’s a very nice and warm feel. You’ll notice some different looks on the social media properties, and you will be seeing some differences in the way that we’re presenting our content on the social media platforms as well, like Facebook, and Twitter, and Google Plus. So, stay tuned for that, we’re kind of redesigning the look, and kind of the way that we’re running it. For example, we’re going to be using a Friday feature video, instead of putting up every video on our YouTube channel that I post – I mean, on to Facebook that I post on YouTube channel – we’re going to probably take the best one of the week, and put it on every Friday, kind of a highlight video, and we’ll start with that tomorrow.

[SCREEN TEXT: New Names for PayPal “Bill Me Later” and GE Capital]

Alan: Also, PayPal has changed their Bill Me Later program to PayPal Credit, and that’s also kind of simultaneously happening while GE Financing is changing their name to Synchrony Bank. Synchrony, S-Y-N-C-H-R-O-N-Y Bank, and so the service will still be the same, the interface, the user interface, will all still be the same, but the names will be different, and so just be aware of that.

[SCREEN TEXT: Our New Wish Child Is Evie!]

Alan: Also, we have a new wish child, and her name is Evie, and we just posted her up on our Make-A-Wish site. My web guy hasn’t put her up on our website yet, but if you want to read more about Evie, and what her story is, go ahead and look at our Make-A-Wish site, our page on the Make-A-Wish site, or stay tuned and in a couple days we’ll have it up on our main site, on our Massage-Chair-Relief site, but Evie’s our new wish child, we’re excited to help her, and continue to raise money. Our goal for 2014 was $7500, and I think we’re, with the most recent update, which we’ll be doing later this week, it’ll be over $7500, I think we’re at $7100 right now. So, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for those who have contributed, for those who have purchased chairs from me, because every, a portion of every chair that we sell goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It’s something that I’m very, that I hold very near to my heart, being a father of quite a few children. I have six, and four grandchildren, and I’ve got a couple of kids that have struggled with some illness, some long-term illness, not like a cold or a flu like I have now, but some significant stuff like diabetes, and you know, Crohn’s disease, and things like that. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there, but thank you for those donated, those who have purchased chairs, and if you do purchase a chair from us, you will see that, that portion will go toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

[SCREEN TEXT: New YouTube Playlist = “Customer Interviews”]

Alan: We started a new playlist last week called ‘Customer Interviews,’ so if you go to our YouTube channel, you’ll see the first one that we put up from Brandon and Sarah, we did that last week. I’ll be posting another one tomorrow of a fellow named Isaac Garcia, and these are customers of ours who have purchased chairs, and sat on them, and in one case, Brandon and Sarah, they’ve owned the chair for a couple, three years. So, it’s kind of cool to hear feedback from someone who’s owned the chair for a while, not someone that’s just bought it, and is excited about it, and you know, some people think that the new testimonials aren’t as good as the reviews from, you know, a year or two down the road, so there are some reviews there for you, there’ll be some reviews from recent past. Anyway, stay tuned for that, and you can go on to our YouTube channel and see it now, or see the first one there, but you’ll see more, and you’ll see one tomorrow, and you’ll see one probably every week for the next number of weeks.

[SCREEN TEXT: New Dreamwave vs. Dreamer Article]

Alan: Also, we have, oh, I wrote an article about – you know, I had a customer that was looking at getting an Osaki Pro Dreamer or an Inada Sogno Dreamwave, but his biggest concern was, this is quoting him, I’ve heard that the Sogno, or the Dreamwave – I can’t call it Sogno anymore, it’s got to be just Dreamwave, but the Dreamwave is too gentle of a massage. I’ve heard that before, and I think I kind of bought in to it because the default massage on the Dreamwave is very gentle and soothing, but I know that you can increase the intensity of it. I’ve talked about that in videos, and I’ve talked about that on articles, and comments, and emails, but I told this customer that I was going to go down to the showroom, and I was going to compare, I was going to crank up the Dreamwave and the Dreamer to their fullest intensity, fully reclined, their most vigorous massage chair program, and I’m going to compare them, side by side. You know what, I cranked the Dreamwave up, and the massage was so intense that even for my upper back and my neck, it was almost a little uncomfortable. I remember the gal, the gal that works in our office, she said ‘Man, I kept hearing you groaning back there, what’s going on?’ Or up there, and I said ‘Well, I was just testing out one of the chairs at full, maximum, you know, intensity. So, that was quite intense, and then the Dreamer was also intense, but I found that the Dreamer was more intense in the low back, and the Dreamwave was more intense in the mid and upper back and the neck, but I wrote an article about it just this last week, so go ahead and check, I think it was last Monday, check out that article. I think I called it ‘Inada Dreamwave Too Intense, Why, or Too Soft, Not So,’ and then I, you know, and my reasons why, so take a look at that article.

[SCREEN TEXT: Used Chairs/Floor Models Available]

Alan: We have some used chairs from last time, two weeks ago, I listed about five, four or five chairs new chairs, one of the floor models is gone, one of the other chairs is gone, actually, three of the chairs are gone, I have two left. I still have the HT-9500 that we’re going to sell for $2999. That’s Human Touch’s top of the line chair, it’s a black leather, a very nice piece of furniture, that has a great massage, you know, feature set as well. Then, I’ve got about a month-and-a-half, or a month, month-and-a-half old Panasonic MA70, their top of the line chair, regularly $6999, this one’s going for $5299, and it’s ‘Black,’ it’s in perfect shape, it was owned by an elderly couple for a month, and they swapped it out for another chair. If you’re interested in those chairs, give me a call, and I’ll gladly hook you up with them. As you can tell, the used chairs go quickly, I’ve sold, you know, just in the last couple of weeks, we’ve sold three of the five that we listed, so give me a call if you have any questions about those.

[SCREEN TEXT: 888-259-5380]

Alan: Well, other than the fact that I have a cold, and I got to cut this short, that is actually everything that we had to talk about today. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me, call me – and I’ll put the number up here – make comments on our blog, or on our YouTube channel, or on our Facebook page, or our Google Plus page, and I’ll gladly respond, and help out in any way that I can as you go through this purchasing, due diligence experience. So, make sure you get our book, so you get ‘The Ultimate Massage Chair Buyer’s Guide,’ make sure you read our article library, or blog, make sure you watch our YouTube videos on our YouTube channel, and you will be inundated with information to help you decide what chair is best for you. In the meantime, give me a call if you have any questions, or an email, or whatnot. If you found this video helpful, please feel free to ‘Like’ us, share us, ‘+1’ us, tweet us, whatever it takes, help us spread the word about massage chairs, and we look forward to seeing you again in two weeks.
