Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – December 11, 2014”
Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for Thursday night, December 11th, 2014.
[SCREEN TEXT: Christmas Shipping Deadlines Are Here!!]
Alan: Now, I’m doing it late tonight, I was going to do it tomorrow, but tomorrow is kind of the last, cutoff deadline date, for getting a chair by Christmas time, or at least by the 23rd, which is the date that, the last day that the shipping companies will actually be delivering chairs to the local residents and the local terminals. So, if you are thinking of getting a massage chair, get on it, don’t waste any time, get it Friday –and if you get it early enough Friday, the chair may, depending on which massage chair you get – the chair may ship out Friday, later in the day, if you order in the morning. Otherwise, order so that your chair has a good chance of shipping out Monday, and getting to your destination by the following Tuesday, but you’re pushing it for time. So, just want to give you that warning, don’t wait, don’t think that you can – well, of course, you can still get one at the last minute, and we can send you out a gift certificate that you put under the tree – but, you know, the chair may not get to you in time, is what I’m saying.

Alan: Let me know, if that’s the case, or if you have any concerns about getting the chair by the 23rd, just call me, 888-259-5380, and I can give you a good idea as to, you know, what the chances are of getting are of getting your chair on time. Anyway, that’s that for Christmas shipping and holiday shipping. It has been busy, this has been a big year, a lot of chair sales, a lot of people, you know, want to get healthy, and want to get lovely gifts for their family members, but just thought you’d want to know that, you know, if you’re procrastinating – and if you’re listening to this, and you haven’t ordered yet, you are procrastinating – don’t procrastinate much longer, or you, the chances of you getting a chair underneath the tree are pretty slim. Now, of course, you’re not going to put the chair under the tree, but you know what I’m saying. So, anyway, one thing I will say though, is a lot of times, it depends on where you’re having the chair shipped to, like let’s say you’re ordering a Human Touch chair, from Southern California, is where their warehouse is, and you live in Arizona. Well, there’s a pretty darn good chance you could even get white glove, let alone regular delivery by the 23rd.
[SCREEN TEXT: Gift Certificates Available to Put Under the Tree]
Alan: So, just call, don’t think that you haven’t made it, and you’re out of luck. Also, don’t think that even if you are too late, that we can’t send you the gift certificate to put under the tree. So, there’s still ways to work with that.
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: Now, I’m going to give you a little bit on stock status. The Osaki 4000 and the Osaki 4000T are both pretty low on stock. The only colors available, and there’s hardly any left, are ‘Charcoal’ and the ‘Brown,’ in the OS-4000T, the OS-4000’s completely gone until after the holidays. The Inada ‘Red’ DreamWave is back-ordered until the week of the 16th, which is next week, and of course, you can order it before Christmas, but you probably won’t get it by Christmas. What else is back-ordered? The Iyashi black on ‘Black,’ and black on ‘Caramel’ were going to be back-ordered. The black on ‘Black’ was actually out of stock, and they weren’t supposed to be getting another shipment until the end of December, and then the black on ‘Caramel’ were low on stock, but we found out yesterday that they received kind of a surprise shipment. So, the Iyashi chairs, and that black on ‘Black,’ that black exterior color’s been very popular since that came out a month or two ago, so that chair’s in stock.
[SCREEN TEXT: Lots of New Models in Our Showroom]
Alan: Speaking of chairs, you know, this is kind of an exciting time of the year, and not just because it’s Christmas, and everybody wants to buy a chair, but because, you know, over the last couple of months, the massage chair companies have been coming out with new chairs. We’ve talked about the Inada chairs, the new Human Touch chairs, the new Panasonic model, and of course the, recently, the new Titan models that we just started carrying, and I just want you to know this is an exciting time for us too because we get to see all these new models. In our showroom, we just received the Titan 8400, we got that one about two weeks ago, and just two days ago, we got the Titan Alpine, which is for bigger people, you know, the 8400’s ideal for people up to about 6’, even though the literature says up to 6’ 5”, but you know, 6’ 1”, 6’ 2”, you’re pushing it because the legs don’t extend out very far, and so you’re going to feel like you’re kind of, you know like a tall guy sitting in a Fiat. The Titan Alpine has a longer extension in the leg rest, and it’s a bigger chair, very nice. It’s narrower than the Iyashi, but about the same depth, and about the same height as the Iyashi, just to give you some reference. The Iyashi’s a big chair, it’s very wide because it has those two big fiberglass armrests. Well, anyway, I got those chairs in the showroom, and we’re getting the Panasonic MA73, which is being held up by a port strike. The clerical workers are apparently on strike in LA, at the LA ports, and so that chair has been, we’ve been waiting for that chair to clear customs, and get in to the Panasonic warehouse in Anaheim, and we will be getting one of those MA73s within the next week, and also, Human Touch’s AcuTouch 8.0 Bali, that’s a chair that we’re getting, we haven’t had a new Human Touch chair in a couple of years, so I’m kind of excited to get this one. It’s a nice looking chair, as is every Human Touch chair, always aesthetically pleasing, usually they’re a little deficient in some of the functionality because they’re not going to have airbags all over the place, and funky looking armrests, because they want the chair to look like a normal recliner. Well, this chair has got some shoulder airbags, and of course, it’s got some arm airbags, and of course, the typical retractable ottoman, which you’ll see on a lot of Human Touch chairs, but I’m excited to get that chair, and do a review on that. I haven’t been able to write any reviews because it’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and that’s like the craziest time of the year, and it continues to stay crazy. As a matter of fact, I started on Black Friday, I started at 7 in the morning, and I finished at 2 the next morning. I took a phone call at 2 in the morning, from a guy in Las Vegas, who was surprised that I picked up the phone, I was surprised I picked up the phone, but that’s how busy it was on Black Friday, or this was, sorry, that was Cyber Monday, on Cyber Monday, Black Friday was busy too, but not nearly as busy as Cyber Monday. Anyway, I’m rambling now, I’m going off, but anyway, stock, I’ve talked about, ordering the chairs on time, I’ve talked about, for Christmas. Oh, I might mention also that Infinite Therapeutics is extending their two year extended warranty for free offer, they offered that for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, that weekend, and they extended it until Christmas. So, if you buy an Infinity chair, you will also get a, you’ll get the two year extended warranty, which is a nice deal.
[SCREEN TEXT: Private Sale of an Inada YuMe for $2500!!]
Alan: OK, what else we got, we’ve got the – oh, you know what, I have a customer who bought an Inada YuMe from me – and the Inada YuMe is a very nice chair, it has the rocking motion, and it has the Thera-Elliptical-Kneading of the calves, which is very unique, you’ll never see anything like that on any other chair, but he bought this chair back in March or May, and he wants to upgrade to another chair. So, he is selling this ‘Crème’ colored Inada YuMe, which is in excellent condition, he’s selling it for $2500. The chair like retails for about $5500, $5700, no, it’s like $5500, yeah, beautiful chair, not a huge chair, it doesn’t take up a lot of space, but it’s an Inada quality, three year, parts and labor, Japanese designed, engineered, and manufactured, beautiful chair.
[SCREEN TEXT: Call Chris at 415-655-6300]
Alan: Anyway, Chris is selling this, and he lives in Northern California, in Concord, and he wants to sell the chair for $2500. That, take it from me, that’s a good deal, and now, and you can call him directly at 415-655-6300, 415-655-6300. He’d prefer to just have someone from Northern California buy it so he doesn’t have to deal with the shipping, but if you want it bad enough – and that is a good price, and I am not making any money on this, by the way, this is not a, I’m not in it for me, this is for Chris – and I’m telling you, it’s a good deal. So, if you want to get the chair, and you want to deal with the shipping, talk to him about it, I’m sure he’d let you take care of the shipping, and you can work that out with him. Anyway, ‘Crème’ YuMe for $2500, that might be something that you want to take a look at, if you’re interested in the YuMe. You know, I think that is just about it for this week, I’m not going to be talking, or seeing you again for another couple of weeks, until after Christmas, when we have, when we’re getting – right before the new year, I think I have another biweekly right at the tail end of the year – and we’re going to a new little set, if you will, like where I’m doing this is in my office, and my office is not very big. At the showroom, we’re going to be setting up a new little, like a different set, for the massage chair industry updates, so it’ll look a little more professional, rather than seeing all my books in the back here, and you know, whatever. You’ll probably laugh whenever you see this, I know my wife makes fun of the high quality room that we have back here. Anyway, it’s pretty chock full of stuff, we’re going to go clean it up, and then move this show over to the showroom, and we’ll do that probably on the next video, in two weeks.
