I recently learned that Human Touch has discontinued the HT-3300 massage chair and is planning on discontinuing the HT-5040 chair on July 15th. These are stripped down versions of the popular HT-7120and at lower price points.
There is no stock at all of the HT-3300. It is not only discontinued, but there is no remaining inventory whatsoever. The HT-5040 is a little different story. Although it is being discontinued this next week, there is still inventory remaining. And, there will be inventory until it is used up. Discontinued, in this case, means that no new chairs are being manufactured in China and that when the current stock is gone...it is gone.
With the advent of Human Touch's new Immersion seating line, I think they are sifting out less-popular models and putting more energy into promoting the new line. I have no idea if the HT-7120 is next, since it is in the same family at the 3300 and the 504o, but if anything does happen, readers of my blog will be the first to hear about it.
Speaking of the Immersion seating, I still haven't tried one yet but have heard some nice things about them. The ZeroG 4.0 is still not available and won't be until fall of 2012. The WholeBody 2.0 is back ordered, so the only model of the series that is currently available is the ZeroG 2.0. Pricing on that chair is $2499. Although I have data on the chairs on my comparison chart, I still do not have written descriptions yet on the product page. I will be getting those done this week.
Some Additional Massage Chair News...
Osaki has added a dark brown color to their very popular Osaki OS-7000 massage chair model. It seems as though taupe and ivory are always back-ordered so maybe another color will take some of the inventory pressure off the taupe and ivory colors. I certainly hope so!
You cannot get parts anymore for the HT-1650 chair, which was the predecessor to the HT-9500 Acutouch chair from Human Touch. I found this out when I received a call from a client complaining that he couldn't get his chair fixed. I immediately called Human Touch to find out how this could be so, since they just discontinued the HT-1650 only 2 years ago. I was told that Human Touch is offering an upgrade program to the HT-9500 for qualified HT-1650 owners.
It worked out quite well for my client, but it worries me that parts for what was a very popular massage chair are no longer available...only 2 years after it was discontinued. I think car parts are around forever aren't they...even after a model has been discontinued? Let's hope this doesn't cause any heartache for current users of recently discontinued Human Touch models.
