How Massage Can Ease the Pain We Unintentionally Cause Ourselves

A recent Seattle Times article took a fascinating look at the everyday things we do that unknowingly put considerable strain on our bodies. For example, someone who spends most of their workday typing is likely putting a lot of stress on their forearms and biceps by engaging in the same repetitive activity for hours at a time without a break. Additionally, workers who spend extended periods of time at a computer terminal might be hurting their lower back by maintaining the same rigid posture for hours on end. Also, by keeping yourself hunched over a computer you can strain your shoulder fascia by keeping it in an awkward position for too long.

One way to treat all that muscle and tissue strain is to engage in regular massage therapy treatments. Getting your biceps and forearms massaged can release the tension you build up over the course of your workday. Working out the knots in your lower back can increase your flexibility and relieve pain. It can also be effective at realigning your posture, which will reduce the strain placed upon your back muscles. And by massaging your shoulders, you can ease the soreness caused by twisted and over extended fascia. Check out the article to find out how massage can relieve the pain caused by your everyday activities.
