HEALTH TIPS: How to spend your time on the massage table wisely - Sarasota Herald-Tribune

When you are receiving a massage, the therapist will likely ask you questions about how certain areas are feeling and may warn you if he or she is going to be working on a problem area that may cause discomfort. Ideally you will be massaged unclothed but with a drape over most of your body, however you may wear some of your clothing if you are unable to relax without it. If something embarrassing should happen, such as passing gas, becoming aroused, or unexpected crying, your therapist has seen it before. He or she may ask if you are okay and leave the room to give you a moment to compose yourself. If the massage hurts too much or if you wish it was a deeper massage, be sure to let your therapist know.
