A recent study has recommended the use of dietary supplements in early life can reduce the effects of memory loss and impaired learning in later life. Mice were studied in a controlled environment that produced stress compared to mice that were in a normal environment without stress. Mice in the stress environment were given a supplement that consisted of methionine, folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12. When later tested on cognitive skills, mice that were in the stressful environment performed less but mice that were given a supplement performed equal to those in a stress free environment.
