Brain Activity May Predict Stress-Related Cardiovascular Risk – PsychCentral.com

A research team lead by Dr. Peter Gianaros Ph.D. recently published findings which indicate a correlation between psychological stress and cardiovascular disorders. The findings are somewhat speculative at present, but create a distinct framework for future study which could yield new methods of stress-related cardiovascular disease and disorder prediction and prevention. The study, titled the “Pittsburgh Imaging Project” is comprised of 310 individuals aged 30-51 and is ongoing with current findings available for detailed review in the Journal of the American Heart Association.
