Here’s something you might not have considered when shopping for a new massage chair: Will the chair actually fit through your doorways? That includes the doorway into your home and the doorway into the room where the chair will be placed.
Most massage chairs arrive disassembled in two or three boxes. The largest box contains the main chair body, and that’s usually the one that causes problems with door clearance.
Here’s a good rule of thumb:
-
If your doorway is 29½ inches or wider, you should have no problem fitting almost any massage chair through it.
However, some chairs arrive fully assembled, and they can be difficult—sometimes impossible—to take apart. If the fully assembled chair is too wide to fit through your doorway, you’re stuck.
We’ve had situations where chairs had to be sent back simply because the customer assumed it would fit, but it didn’t—and there was no way to disassemble it.
So make sure you measure your doorways before making your final decision on which chair to buy.
