Hello, this is Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and today we are interviewing Kevin Metaf, one of our customers who recently purchased a Luraco i9 Max Plus SE.
Kevin, welcome. Thank you so much for being here—I really appreciate it.
Kevin: Good afternoon, Dr. Weidner. I appreciate the invitation. It’s an honor, and I’m looking forward to it.
Dr. Weidner: Great to have you. Tell me a little about your experience with massage chairs. Have you owned one before, or how did you first get interested?
Kevin: A couple of years ago, I was in Florida visiting my dad in Sun City. He had an Osaki chair—he may still have it or may have upgraded—but we really enjoyed it during the holidays. After that, when I moved, I decided I wanted to get a quality massage chair for myself.
Dr. Weidner: Tell me about your journey. How did you find us, and what was your process like?
Kevin: I started by visiting a few local shops just to see what was out there, since my only exposure had been my dad’s Osaki chair and the ones you see in airports. Once I decided it was time to buy, I began researching more seriously.
With tools like AI—ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini—it became easier to compare options. I came across your company, and Stan helped me a lot. I visited your Taylorsville location and tried several chairs.
Before finding Luraco, my top choices were Osaki and Daiwa. I really liked the Daiwa Supreme Hybrid, especially its stretch feature, and I also tried the Osaki Duo Max.
Dr. Weidner: What ultimately led you to choose the Luraco?
Kevin: My lifestyle played a big role. I’m a 56-year-old veteran, a former military working dog trainer, and very active—I coach soccer, surf, cliff dive, and used to race motorcycles. I also manage dog teams for Homeland Security in Utah, which means a lot of walking.
After long days and workouts—biking, hiking, gym sessions—I needed something for recovery.
The Daiwa and Osaki chairs were great for full-body massage, but what stood out about the Luraco was the ability to isolate specific areas. I can target just my neck, back, hands, or feet. The medical-grade features, heat control, and customization really set it apart.
I created a routine: about 30 minutes focusing on specific areas, followed by another 30 minutes using stretch or nighttime modes. I use it every day.
Dr. Weidner: Every day—that’s great.
Kevin: Yes, and my wife uses it too. When family visits, I’ve even saved preset programs for different people. The customization is incredible.
Dr. Weidner: Did durability and long-term value factor into your decision?
Kevin: Absolutely. When you’re spending $7,000 or more, you want something that lasts. From my research—Better Business Bureau, Trustpilot, forums—I noticed many chairs start to wear out after a few years, especially the synthetic upholstery peeling.
The Luraco stood out with its automotive-grade leather and strong warranty. That gave me confidence, along with your company’s support and white-glove delivery service.
Dr. Weidner: Do you use different intensity levels depending on the situation?
Kevin: Definitely. It ranges from very gentle to very intense. Personally, I prefer strong massages—I even flip the headrest out of the way. But for family members, I adjust it to something more comfortable.
There was even a situation where my dad found the foot rollers too intense. The Luraco support team walked me through modifying the foot section, which made it much more tolerable for him.
Dr. Weidner: That’s great support. How does your dad like your chair compared to his?
Kevin: He liked it, though the intensity—especially the heat and foot massage—was new to him. After adjustments, it worked well for him too.
Dr. Weidner: Have you noticed benefits beyond recovery and pain relief?
Kevin: Yes—definitely. Before the chair, I had constant neck and back pain. Now, it’s mostly gone unless I overdo it. Even then, the chair helps me recover quickly.
It also helps with sleep. Using nighttime or stretch modes relaxes me enough to fall asleep more easily. Overall, it’s been a huge investment in my daily health.
Dr. Weidner: Sounds like it’s become part of your routine.
Kevin: Absolutely. After workouts, I shower and then spend about an hour in the chair. It’s part of my recovery process now.
Dr. Weidner: If you could change anything about the chair, what would it be?
Kevin: The only thing I’d tweak is the stretch intensity. The Daiwa’s stretch was extremely strong—it felt like a full-body decompression. The Luraco has a good stretch, but it’s not quite as aggressive. That said, overall, the Luraco is the better chair for my needs.
Dr. Weidner: What advice would you give someone shopping for a massage chair?
Kevin: Do your research and focus on your goals. For me, it was full-body massage plus the ability to isolate areas. Customization was key.
Also, think about durability. Materials matter—especially upholstery. And consider long-term support, warranties, and service.
Your company stood out because you didn’t pressure me. You encouraged me to try everything and make my own decision. That made a big difference.
Dr. Weidner: We appreciate that. Our goal is to support customers for the long term.
Kevin: And it shows. From product quality to service, everything has been excellent. I really appreciate what you and your team provide.
Dr. Weidner: Thank you, Kevin. We’re grateful you chose us and that we could help you find the right chair. Thanks again for your time today.
Kevin: Thank you. I appreciate it.
Dr. Weidner: And to everyone watching—thanks for joining us. We’ll see you next time.
