Not long ago, we conducted a survey of our customers who had purchased massage chairs from us to find out what motivated them to get a massage chair in the first place.
Was it back pain? Neck pain? Headaches? Relaxation? Stress relief? Improved flexibility? Better sleep? Sciatica?
What was the real reason behind their purchase?
I’m sharing this with you because you might relate to some of these motivations yourself.
The first question we asked was:
👉 What motivated you to get a massage chair?
The second question was:
👉 Did the massage chair actually deliver the results you were hoping for?
In other words, did it truly address the reasons you bought it?
The results were fascinating. As a chiropractor and someone who has worked with massage chairs for over 20 years, I expected low back pain, mid-back pain, and neck pain to be the primary reasons people purchased massage chairs. And while those were indeed major factors, they weren’t the only ones.
We discovered that many people also bought massage chairs for relaxation, stress relief, general wellness, and better sleep — what I’d call asymptomatic reasons. And interestingly, these reasons were almost as common as the symptomatic ones (pain-related issues).
In fact, I was surprised to see that the numbers for non-symptomatic motivations were nearly equal to those for pain relief.
Even more impressive, 91.2% of customers reported that their massage chair actually helped with the issue or goal that motivated their purchase.
-
Those who bought it for relaxation felt more relaxed.
-
Those who wanted stress relief experienced less stress.
-
Those seeking better sleep slept more soundly.
-
And those with neck, mid-back, or low back pain found real relief.
So, over 90% of people who bought a massage chair — for any reason — experienced a positive result.
That’s something you can count on if you’ve been wondering whether a massage chair might help with whatever’s bothering you.
