Make sure you understand the return policy for the massage chair you’re buying. Return policies can range anywhere from 7 days to 90 days, and some chairs don’t have a return policy at all—the company may only offer an exchange policy. Be aware of that before you purchase.
Also check the cost of returning a chair.
Will you have to pay:
-
return shipping?
-
a restocking fee?
-
credit card processing fees?
You need to know exactly what you’ll be responsible for.
Some of the newer massage chairs sold strictly online have very tricky policies. Their return policy might say you cannot return the chair unless it is unused. But how can you know whether the chair works for you if you’re not allowed to use it? And how do they determine whether it’s “used”? I have no idea. Just be very careful with the wording of these policies.
Another important tip: keep the boxes your chair arrives in. If you ever need to return the chair and you don’t have the original packaging, the company may refuse the return. And if you ship it back in different boxes, the chair could be damaged during transport. If that happens, you’ll likely be charged for the repairs, or those repair costs will be deducted from your refund.
Be careful, read the return policy closely, and protect yourself.
