Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and today we’re going to talk about the armrests of the Human Touch Super Novo X, the latest model in the Novo family of chairs.

This chair is unique, and so are its armrests, because they can move up and down, making it easier for users to get into the chair. For people who have difficulty backing into a traditional massage chair—especially older adults or those with severe low back pain—this design is much safer and more stable.

Instead of entering from the front, you can now raise either the left or right armrest. You can do this with the remote control by pressing the button labeled “Door,” which allows you to open either side. You can also use the Human Touch app, available for both Android and Apple devices.

On the front of each armrest, you’ll notice silver-colored sensors. When the chair is inactive, no light will appear on the top strip. To wake the chair and raise the armrests, simply touch either panel—the light will turn blue, meaning the armrests are now active.

Let’s raise the left one since I’m on this side. Hold your finger on the sensor for a couple of seconds, and the armrest will lift. Pretty cool, right? It’s kind of like a sports car with doors that open upward. This makes it much easier for someone with limited mobility, due to age or pain, to get in and out of the chair.

When you’re ready to close the armrest, you can press the opposite sensor, or simply use the remote control. Keep in mind that you must hold the sensor down for it to lower completely.

One important note: if the chair is in the middle of a program, or not restored to its original upright position, the lights will turn red. When the lights are red, the doors cannot be raised or lowered—neither by touch nor by the remote control. The chair must first be returned to its upright, neutral position.
