Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and today we’re going to talk about the armrests—also called the “doors”—of the Human Touch Super Novo X, the latest model in the Novo family.
This chair is unique because the armrests can raise and lower, allowing users to enter the chair from the side. This is incredibly helpful for people who have difficulty backing into a chair the traditional way—such as older individuals or anyone experiencing severe low back pain. Entering from the front can be unstable or uncomfortable, so this side-entry design is a big advantage.
You can raise either the left or right armrest. What’s interesting is that you can control the doors in three different ways:
-
On the remote control — there’s a “Door” button that lets you open the left or right side.
-
Through the Human Touch app — available for both Android and Apple devices.
-
Using the touch sensors on the armrests themselves.
On the front of each armrest, you’ll notice silver-colored sensors. When the chair is inactive, there’s no light visible on the line at the top of the sensor. To wake up the chair and raise an armrest, simply touch either panel; the light will turn blue, meaning the doors are now active.
Let’s raise the left armrest.
Hold your finger on the sensor for a couple of seconds, and the armrest will lift. Pretty cool, right? It’s almost like a sports car with vertical doors.
This makes it much easier for someone with limited mobility—whether due to age or pain—to get in and out of the chair.
Once you’re seated and ready to close the armrest, you can’t reach the far sensor, but you can touch the closer sensor and the opposite one simultaneously. Hold your finger down, and the armrest will lower. After it’s down, you can use the remote control normally.
One more thing to know:
If the chair is mid-program or hasn’t been restored to its neutral upright position, the lights on the sensors will turn red. When the lights are red, you cannot raise or lower the armrests—not by touch and not with the remote. The chair must first return to its restored, upright position.
And those are the teardrop armrest doors of the new Super Novo X from Human Touch.
