Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and today I’m going to share some thoughts on the Infinity Luminary Syner-D massage chair, including my personal opinions, pros, and cons.
Overall, we really like this chair. It’s a high-quality model, built in the Rotai factory—one of the top five massage chair manufacturing facilities in China. I’ve visited this factory myself, and it’s an impressive operation. Knowing it’s built in such a reputable factory bodes well for warranty support, product longevity, and lower failure rates over time.
That said, I do feel the manufacturer’s warranty is a bit limited, especially for a chair at this price point—typically between $10,000 and $15,000. You’d normally expect more than one year of labor coverage. This model includes one year of labor and three years of parts.
Of course, if you buy from us, you’re covered by our Lifetime Labor Warranty. That means once the first year is up, we’ll still take care of the labor costs for repairs. But if you buy elsewhere, you’d be responsible for service after year one. Labor can cost anywhere from $225 to $450, depending on the issue and technician.
✅ Pro: Overall Build & Strength
The Luminary is very well-built and provides a strong massage, thanks to its split-track design.
I personally love split-track chairs. They tend to deliver deeper, more effective massages.
However, that strength can be a con for some people who prefer a gentler massage.
To address this, the chair comes with:
A head/neck pillow
An upper back pad
A full back pad
These let you customize intensity. It’s also a 3D/4D chair, so you can adjust the roller depth via the remote. Just know that even at the lowest intensity, without padding, it might still be too strong for sensitive users. I recommend starting with one of the pads, testing it out, and adjusting based on your comfort.
✅ Pro: Foot & Calf Massage
The calf airbags inflate and oscillate—a standout feature.
There are three foot rollers on each side and even calf rollers.
The massage is very strong, which is fantastic for those who want that intensity—but it can be too much for first-time users.
Fortunately, Infinity includes extra foot pads. Just insert them to reduce intensity. Remove them if you want a stronger massage. It’s a smart solution that gives users control.
Personally, I love calf massages. I have larger calves from playing hockey and walking a lot, and this feature is a game-changer for me.
⚠️ Con: Limited Color Options
The chair is available in black and brown, which are traditional and popular colors.
However, if you prefer lighter shades like taupe, beige, or off-white, this model may not meet your aesthetic needs.
✅ Pro: SootheMe Sound Therapy
While the Bluetooth system is decent, the SootheMe feature is fantastic.
It plays built-in nature sounds directly through the speakers, no phone connection needed.
Just sit back, press the button, and enjoy calming audio—great for relaxation.
✅ Pro: Memory Function
This is a standout feature you don’t see in many chairs.
You can create a custom manual massage program, adjust everything to your preference—kneading, tapping, roller speed, intensity—and save it.
Next time, just press a memory button on the quick keys to recall it instantly.
No need to remember your settings—super convenient.
✅ Pro: Quick Keys
The chair has a quick-access control panel for essential functions.
You can power it on, select programs, adjust heat and sound, pause the massage, and power off—all without using the full tablet remote.
This is a common feature in newer chairs, but the Luminary’s implementation is especially easy to use and intuitive.
⚠️ Con: Remote Interface Confusion
The remote works well overall, and the demo program is excellent. It even features a female voice guiding you through what the chair is doing.
But I ran into a hiccup with the “Morning” program—I couldn’t figure out how to power off the chair using the tablet.
Unlike the quick keys, the tablet didn’t have an obvious power button in that mode.
I eventually figured out that pressing the “Stop” button ended the program and reset the chair—but I wish that was more clearly labeled.
This is a very impressive massage chair—well-built, powerful, full of features, and a strong seller. The few cons I’ve mentioned are minor and easily managed. The Luminary is upholstered with durable synthetic leather, and Infinity as a brand provides excellent customer support.
As a retailer, we love working with companies like Infinity because they’re responsive, accountable, and they treat our customers well.
