When you order a massage chair—whether from us, another retailer, or directly from a distributor—the chair will be shipped to your home or office. However, not all delivery services are the same. There are three main types: curbside delivery, threshold delivery, and white glove delivery.
Let’s go through each one.
Curbside Delivery
Curbside delivery is the most basic option, and it is typically included for free with most massage chairs.
With curbside delivery, the chair is brought to your home and left outside. The delivery team will use a pallet jack—essentially a small hydraulic lift—to remove the boxed chair from the truck and move it as close to your home as possible. However, they can only move it across smooth, solid surfaces. If they encounter gravel, dirt, grass, or uneven terrain, they will stop there.
At that point, it becomes your responsibility to bring the chair inside and assemble it.
This option is ideal for customers who prefer to handle setup themselves and want to avoid paying for additional services.
Threshold Delivery
Not all companies offer threshold delivery, but some do.
With threshold delivery, the team will again bring the chair as close to your home as possible using a pallet jack. Once they reach the point where the terrain prevents further movement, two delivery personnel will lift the boxed chair and carry it across the threshold—meaning through your front door and just inside your home.
However, they will not move it to the room of your choice, nor will they assemble it. You are still responsible for unpacking and setting up the chair.
White Glove Delivery (In-Home Delivery & Setup)
White glove delivery—also called in-home delivery and setup—is the most comprehensive option.
With this service, the delivery team will:
-
Bring the chair to your home
-
Carry it across the threshold
-
Move it to the room of your choice
-
Assemble the chair for you
-
Remove and dispose of all packaging materials
All you need to do is sit down, turn it on, and enjoy your massage.
A Helpful Tip
If you choose white glove delivery and there is any chance you may return the chair, consider keeping the original boxes.
Some companies charge return shipping fees or restocking fees. If you do not have the original packaging, returning the chair can become problematic. Without proper packaging, the chair could be damaged in transit—and you may be responsible for those repair costs. Additionally, shipping a chair without its original box can increase transportation expenses due to the added logistics involved.
Keeping the packaging can save you time, money, and frustration if a return becomes necessary.
