Whatever massage chair you decide to get, follow this important tip: Do not stand on the ottoman or footrest.
Not all footrests come down completely flush and level with the floor when the chair is in the neutral position. If you stand on the footrest, it can snap off or break the foot portion.
Also, when you’re turning off the program or the chair is shutting down on its own, wait until the ottoman is fully lowered to the ground before getting out of the chair. Standing on it while it’s still raised will most likely cause it to break — and this type of damage is not covered under warranty.
We once had a customer whose chair developed a problem. They were moving, so they brought it to our office for repair. The issue? The footrest portion was completely destroyed and flapping around. Unfortunately, that particular chair model had been discontinued, so we couldn’t replace the ottoman or footrest.
Just be aware: When you have a massage chair, never stand on the ottoman — especially while it’s still in midair. Straddle it, walk around it, or do whatever you need to do, but don’t put your weight on it.
