Massage chair airbags have come a long way over the years.
The first airbags were fairly simple. They were primarily designed to squeeze areas such as your arms, calves, and feet. They provided compression, but their function was relatively limited.
Then, in the 2000s, Inada, a Japanese massage chair manufacturer, introduced a very different approach to airbag technology.
One example was the DreamWave technology, which used airbags to move the seat from side to side and create a figure-eight motion. Instead of simply squeezing the body, the airbags were actually being used to move different parts of the body.
Inada also introduced airbags in the headrest area that could push down on the top of the trapezius muscles, or traps.
This was a significant change in how airbags were used. Rather than simply compressing your arms, legs, or feet, airbags could now move body parts and apply pressure to areas that massage rollers couldn’t easily reach—particularly the tops of the shoulders.
That evolution has made airbags an important part of modern massage chair technology.
Anyway, I hope you found this video helpful. I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
