Beware of Fake “Best Chairs” Reports! I’d like to talk a little about those “Top 5,” “Top 10,” or “Top 20 Massage Chair” reports you see online. I have a real issue with these kinds of lists.

Most of these reports are marketing pieces, created by what we call affiliates. Affiliates are people who sign up to promote certain products online and earn a commission when someone buys through their link. Now, I have no problem with people earning a commission — that’s how we make a living, too.

What I do have a problem with is the misleading nature of these reports.

The chair they rank as #1 is almost always the chair that pays the highest commission. Often, it’s a chair that’s not well-known in the industry and doesn’t have a strong reputation.

The rest of the chairs on the list — the other four, nine, or fifteen chairs — are often models that:

• are no longer being manufactured,

• come from companies that are out of business, or

• weren’t considered great chairs even when they were available.

People download these reports, then come to us asking,
“Do you carry these top five chairs?”
But no one carries most of them — because they don’t exist anymore, or they were never legitimate options to begin with.

And in many cases, the only chairs you can actually buy from those lists are available online only, meaning you can’t try them before you buy them.

So no — I’m not a big fan of those reports.

Please be careful when you see them.
Read them if you want, but make sure you also get real backup information to confirm whether those chairs are legitimate, current, well-made, and supported by a real company.

Avoid the cheap chairs, the poorly made chairs, the discontinued chairs, and the “company went out of business” chairs.

Buyer beware. Save yourself a lot of trouble.
